  • Publication number: 20230188341
Abstract: An apparatus can include an interface coupled to processing circuitry and cryptographic circuitry coupled to the interface. The cryptographic circuitry can receive a request from the processing circuitry over the interface to perform a cryptographic operation using a remote hardware security module (HSM) key component. The cryptographic circuitry can further transmit a command to a remote component to retrieve the remote HSM key component. Subsequent to receiving the cryptographic key component, the cryptographic circuitry can construct a trusted execution environment (TEE) instance and store the remote HSM key component in the TEE instance. The cryptographic circuitry can use the remote HSM key component to perform the cryptographic operation and provide a result of the cryptographic operation to the processing circuitry over the interface.

  • Patent number: 9280469
Abstract: A technique manages data within a data storage apparatus having a cache of volatile memory and non-volatile storage. The technique involves receiving a set of write commands to write data to the non-volatile storage. The technique further involves acknowledging, in a write-back caching manner, completion of the set of write commands after the data reaches the cache of volatile memory and prior to the data reaching the non-volatile storage. The data includes host data as well as critical metadata. The technique further involves saving, after acknowledging completion of the set of write commands, the data from the cache of volatile memory to the non-volatile storage, the critical metadata being saved from the cache of volatile memory to the non-volatile storage at a quicker rate than that of the host data (i.e., accelerated synchronization of the critical metadata).

  • Publication number: 20120183622
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention comprise biodegradable composites including a polyurethane component and cells encapsulated in gel beads, as well as methods of making such composite and uses thereof. In certain embodiments the gel beads are alginate beads. The composites may be moldable and/or injectable. After implantation or injection, a composition may be set to form a porous composite that provides mechanical strength, supports the in-growth of cells, and/or delivers cells to particular tissues. Inventive composites have the advantage of being able to fill irregularly shaped implantation sites, deliver cells in a localized and noninvasive manner, and optimize cell proliferation and differentiation of delivered cells.
