  • Publication number: 20250096850
Abstract: Techniques are described for signaling in environments including one or more reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs). An example wireless communication method includes transmitting, from a network device, a first signal to a subset of reflective elements of a surface comprising a plurality of reflective elements, the first signal being reflected off the surface in at least a first direction toward a wireless device. The method further includes receiving, from the wireless device, a second signal based on the first signal. For example, the first signal can include a reference signal, and the second signal can include a measurement of the reference signal. Based on the signaling, the subset, a different subset, or no subset of reflective elements can be selected for transmission.

  • Patent number: 12256429
Abstract: Presented are systems, methods, apparatuses, or computer-readable media for transmission configuration indicator (TCI) switching using listen before talk (LBT) counters. A wireless communication device in an active TCI switching procedure may receive a physical data shared channel with an activation command. The wireless communication device may determine that a target TCI state is absent from an active TCI state list of the physical data shared channel. The wireless communication device may determine whether the target TCI state is known.

  • Publication number: 20240187872
Abstract: This document generally relates to use of intelligent reflecting devices in wireless communication systems, which may increase the coverage for a wireless access node or base station. An intelligent reflecting device may configure its surface with a degree of reflection according to a reflection scheme, and in turn, the surface may reflect an incident signal according to the reflection scheme. As a result, the reflected signal may have one or more characteristics that indicate to a receiving device that the received signal was reflected by an intelligent reflecting device, and/or one or more characteristics of the intelligent reflecting device.

  • Publication number: 20240155327
Abstract: Systems, apparatus and methods for wireless communication are described, and more specifically, to techniques related to managing multiple subscriber identity modules (SIMs). One example method for wireless communication includes selecting, by a wireless device configured with at least a first subscriber identity module (SIM) and a second SIM, a primary SIM, performing a measurement of a reference signal configured for the primary SIM to obtain a primary result associated with the primary SIM, and reporting the primary result. The primary result can then be applied to other SIMs configured on the wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20230266458
Abstract: This document generally relates to use of intelligent reflecting devices for positioning in wireless communication systems, which may increase the coverage for a wireless access node or base station. During a positioning session, an intelligent reflecting device may reflect a signal to a receiving node. An identity of the intelligent reflecting device may be determined, and a position of the receiving node may be determined based on the identity of the intelligent reflecting device.

  • Publication number: 20230146485
Abstract: This document generally relates to wireless communication systems that involve one or more intelligent reflecting devices. A plurality of second nodes that communicate with a first node may be grouped into node groups based on one or more communication parameters between the plurality of second nodes and an intelligent reflecting device. In turn, the first node may transmit signals to the plurality of second nodes via the intelligent reflecting device according to a time schedule based on the node grouping. In addition or alternatively, an intelligent reflecting device may include surface elements that are divided into multiple surface element regions. The first node may communicate with the multiple surface element regions independently in order to service the plurality of second nodes.
