  • Publication number: 20210032728
Abstract: In the technical field of metal melting, a unisource high-strength ultrasound-assisted method for casting large-specification 2XXX series aluminum alloy round ingots applies in an ingot guiding process, a unisource high-strength ultrasonic vibration system to the center of a hot-top crystallizer, ultrasound directly acts on the center position of a crystallizer, and enough ultrasonic field energy is provided for a melt by controlling the power of the ultrasonic vibration system, so that an aluminum alloy solidification process is implemented under the effect of ultrasound, homogenization of microstructures and components of ingots is promoted, and the existing problems that microstructures are thick and crystal phases are enriched due to slow cooling of centers of large-specification round ingots are effectively solved, meanwhile, the problems of great operation difficulty and heavy workload during multisource ultrasonic coupling are avoided.

  • Patent number: 9678079
Abstract: A microfluidic testing cartridge for testing LAL-reactive substances in fluid samples is provided. The cartridge may include at least two (2) testing modules, wherein each testing module includes at least one inlet port for receiving one of the fluid samples, and at least four (4) testing channels in fluid communication with the inlet port. Each of the testing channels may include a metering portion for metering an aliquot of the fluid sample, an analyzing portion, and a mixing portion, wherein a valve is positioned between the metering portion and the analyzing portion to selectively fluidly separate the metering portion from the analyzing portion. The cartridge is insertable into an optical reader which performs optical measurements of the fluid sample within each testing channel during a testing process.

  • Patent number: 5632932
Abstract: Fine bubbles or droplets of a first fluid are dispersed in a liquid; a stream of a first fluid (10) is injected under pressure into a body of liquid (16), such stream having a lateral dimension relative to the direction of flow of the stream, which lateral dimension is elongate; a stream of a second fluid (12) is injected, under pressure into the body of liquid, which stream similarly has a lateral dimension relative to its direction of flow, which lateral dimension is elongate; the streams are injected such that a large two-dimensional interfacial contact area is established between the two streams; at least the second fluid is a liquid, the first fluid may be a liquid or a gas; the fine bubbles or droplets are produced with a lower energy requirement than prior art devices.
