Patent number: 11933639Abstract: A sensor and a sensing system includes a chain of sensors, wherein each sensor comprises an input control port, an output control port, a power interface and an output interface, and is configured such that, when the sensor is powered over the power interface, an enable signal at the input control port triggers the sensor for executing a sequence which comprises measuring a physical property, and subsequently transmitting an enable signal over the output control port. The output control port of an earlier sensor is connected with the input control port of a next sensor. A first sensor is configured for repeating the sequence with a predefined period.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 2022Date of Patent: March 19, 2024Assignee: MELEXIS BULGARIA EOODInventors: Tsvetan Marinov, Rumen Peev

Patent number: 9652905Abstract: A sensor integrated circuit comprising a controller and a diagnostic module in communication with the controller. The controller is configured for providing a diagnostic reporting signal being a periodic superposition signal on a sensing output of the sensor integrated circuit and/or on a supply current of the sensor integrated circuit. The periodic superposition signal has periodic pulses with a predetermined fixed pulse duration and a predetermined periodicity. The controller furthermore is configured for altering the predetermined periodicity or predetermined fixed pulse duration of the periodic superposition signal upon a fault detection in the diagnostic module communicated to the controller.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2016Date of Patent: May 16, 2017Assignee: MELEXIS TECHNOLOGIES NVInventors: Rumen Peev, Stoyan Gaydov, Klaus Wilczek

Patent number: 8552721Abstract: A Hall sensor array has two Hall sensors arranged in opposed quadrants of a two by two array. Each Hall sensor has four contacts, arranged as two pairs of opposite contacts, the axes of each pair being substantially perpendicular.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2008Date of Patent: October 8, 2013Assignee: Melexis Technologies NVInventors: Rumen Peev, Radostin Tsankov, Stoyan Gaydov

Patent number: 8203296Abstract: A 2-phase BLDC motor is driven by a trapezoidal waveform. For one-half of the motor rotation period T, the phase is driven by the trapezoidal waveform and for the other half-period, the coil remains undriven. An up down counter is operable to increment at a first frequency f1 and to decrement at a second frequency f2. Incrementing operation is initiated at the start of the driven period of the waveform and stopped at the start of the down slope of the waveform. Decrementing operation is initiated at the start of the down slope of the waveform and stopped at the end of the down slope. The ratio of frequencies f1:f2 is used to measure the relative duration of the slope to the driven period and is selected to mirror the desired ratio of slope duration:driven period duration.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2008Date of Patent: June 19, 2012Assignee: Melexis NVInventors: Hristo Hristov, Rumen Peev, Kalin Petrov

Publication number: 20090134824Abstract: A 2-phase BLDC motor is driven by a trapezoidal waveform. For one-half of the motor rotation period T, the phase is driven by the trapezoidal waveform and for the other half-period, the coil remains undriven. Accordingly, if the optimum slope duration is around 10% of the duration of the driven portion, then it is of the order of T/20. The ratio of frequencies f1:f2 is used to measure the relative duration of the slope to the driven period and is selected to mirror the desired ratio of slope duration:driven period duration.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2008Publication date: May 28, 2009Applicant: MELEXIS NVInventors: Hristo Hristov, Rumen Peev, Kalin Petrov

Patent number: 5945871Abstract: In a method of temperature stabilization of a reference voltage, in a first prespecified time interval, a current having a first constant amperage and, in a second prespecified time interval, a current having a second constant amperage and alternately applied to a pn junction. During the first and second time intervals, voltages at the pn junction are supplied to an input of an analysis circuit. The analysis circuit forms the difference between the two voltages and adds the difference in a weighted manner to a voltage obtained from one of the first and second amperages. The weighted result is applied to an output of the analysis circuit. The first constant amperage is applied to the pn junction during both the first and second prespecified time intervals and the second constant amperage is applied to the pn junction during the second prespecified time interval.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1997Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: National Semiconductor CorporationInventors: Wilfried Kausel, Johann Kremser, Rumen Peev
