  • Patent number: 8861438
Abstract: A set of different communication flows (270-272) can be established between a set of end-user devices (210) and remote devices (265) through an intermediary node (225). For each communication flow (270-272), a flow-specific bearer (250) can be generated between the intermediary node (225) and a corresponding one of the remote devices (265). Each bearer (250) can have quality of service attributes that correspond to flow-specific quality of service attributes of the flow (270-272) to which the flow-specific bearer (250) corresponds. Communication can occur between each of the proximate end-user devices (210) and the remote devices (265) in accordance with the flow-specific quality of service attributes. The intermediate node (225) can direct the exchanged data between unique local communication links and corresponding ones of the flow-specific bearers (250).

  • Patent number: 8406798
Abstract: A PTT bridging gateway between a first PTT system and a second disparate PTT system: receives an invitation to a first client to join a first group call for a first group comprising multiple member clients on the first PTT system, wherein the first client is one of the member clients of the first group; determines that the first client is mapped to a second group comprising multiple member clients on the second PTT system; and initiates a second group call to the multiple member clients on the second PTT system.

  • Patent number: 7853280
Abstract: A method of managing a Push-To-Talk over Cellular communication session includes establishing, with a first user equipment, a Session Initiation Protocol Push-To-Talk session that includes a Session Initiation Protocol Push-To-Talk server and at least one second user equipment. The method also includes designating, with the first user equipment, either the Session Initiation Protocol Push-To-Talk server or one of the at least one second user equipment, to act as an arbiter of a media stream. The method further includes transmitting, with the first user equipment, while engaged in the Session Initiation Protocol Push-To-Talk session, the media stream directly to at least one of the at least one second user equipment without receiving a transmit instruction from the Push-To-Talk server.
