A holder is attached to the housing and made of a material with a second low heat-conductivity index that is substantially lower than the first high heat conductivity index. The holder holds a peltier element and is connected to a power source so that the element has a cooled layer and a heated layer. A rotatable roller is in operative engagement with the layer so that the layer cools the roller. The roller may be rolled on the skin of the patient to determine the scope and effect of anesthetic treatment.

A device according to the invention absorbs energy efficiently and can be re-used several times without requiring adjustment or replacement of parts incorporated therein.

The bearing is mounted on the shaft by a clamping sleeve (4) with a longitudinal slit and two flanges (5, 6) one on each side of the bearing. The flanges, which are axially fixed on the sleeve, are parts of mounting and dismounting means for a bearing. The bearing space is sealed by sealing members which surround the flanges and have lips (12, 13) contacting the outer surfaces of said flanges. Resilient sealing rings (10, 11) are arranged between the flanges and the inner ring of the bearing. The sealing arrangement allows the use of a slitted clamping sleeve and axial displacement of the bearing on the shaft (1) during mounting.

    Abstract: A freewheel device with freewheeling and locking effect in both directions of rotation can be produced easily and inexpensively by the use of conventional sprags designed for use in uni-directional freewheel devices. Two sets of sprags are provided between the inner and the outer raceway of the device, one for each direction of rotation. The sprags are spring loaded for taking positions in which they do not contact one raceway, and a cage which is braked during rotation is provided to be brought in rotation by the sprags and thereby influence the sprags against the spring force to taking a position in which they contact both raceways, the two sets of sprags being alternately engaged or disengaged depending on the direction or rotation of the device.

    Abstract: A clamping ring for use e.g. as a support around a jointing sleeve during explosion welding consists substantially of two preferably equal ring halves (1,2) connected to each other over slots (3) limited by flanges (4,5) comprising surfaces (6,7) which form an angle (.alpha.). The surfaces co-operate with opposing surfaces (10,11) on an annular clamping member (9) which enclosed the flanges. Means, e.g. screws (12), are provided for bringing about a wedging action by displacing of the clamping member in relation to the clamping ring, thereby varying the bore circumference of the clamping ring. The force uniting the clamping ring halves is completely taken up by the clamping member (9) and does not stress the screws (12).

    Abstract: In a freewheel mechanism with a number of blocking members arranged between raceways on two elements, one raceway is arranged on a body which is co-operating with one of the elements and is turnable thereon. The circumference of the body is variable for varying the distance between the raceways. The variations can take place because the body is elastically deformable radially and by tightening and releasing a threaded portion between the body and the element, the thread flanks thereby acting as wedges. The purpose of the arrangement is to avoid jamming of the freewheel by the blocking members upon reversal of the direction of rotation when the blocking members are in blocking position. The unwanted torque developed during jamming of the freewheel releases the tightened thread joint between the body and the element, whereby the circumference of the body and the distance between the raceways of the freewheel is increased so that the blocking members are released.

For the purpose of bending respective end parts of the plate, which is effected by so-called eccentric bending, the apparatus includes at least one additional die bar which is located at a greater distance from the end in question of the plate and at a higher level than that one of the two normally provided die bars located furthest from the end of the plate, and functionally replaces the one normally provided die bar. Preferably the apparatus includes a further die bar located outside each of the two normally provided die bars.
