  • Patent number: 8373750
Abstract: A device for transferring full frame motion pictures, comprising a series of frames, to an photosensitive material, comprises a digital head comprising a light source, a color filter, at least one device for light modulation, at least one lens for projecting the modulated light onto the photosensitive material, processing electronics and software for processing the signal input, and for transport and shutter device synchronization, a shutter device, a transport device adapted for exposing, section for section, the sections of the photosensitive material corresponding to each of the picture frames to the modulated projected light, a user interface, and a graphical computer interface connected to the digital head. The motion pictures to be transferred to the photosensitive material may have a digital or analogue representation. A corresponding method for transferring full frame motion pictures to a photosensitive material is also presented.

  • Patent number: 8300515
Abstract: The invention relates to the recording of soundtracks onto analogue cinema film, in particular the recording of digital created and/or digital/electronically stored representations of soundtracks onto film. The method according to the invention for comprises converting sound data from the digital soundtracks to sound image data, modulating light based on the sound image data, and imaging the modulated light onto a photosensitive film. The device according to the invention comprises at least one light source, processing electronics for converting sound data from the digital soundtracks to sound image data, at least one full frame device connected to the processing electronics, adapted for modulating light from the light source according to the sound image data, imaging optics for imaging the modulated light onto a photosensitive film.

  • Patent number: 7852455
Abstract: The invention regards a device for recording full picture frames onto a photosensitive material, comprising at least one light source, at least two full frame devices for modulating light from the light source, imaging optics for combining the modulated light from the light modulation devices and/or combining optics, and recording the modulated light onto the photosensitive material, thus exposing the photosensitive material frame by frame, a film transportation device adapted for exposing, section for section, sections of the photosensitive material to the modulated light. The invention also regards a device for simultaneous and synchronised recording of full picture frames and sound tracks onto a photosensitive material.

  • Patent number: 7723665
Abstract: A method for calibration and/or compensation in transference of digital and/or analogue motion pictures to a photosensitive material comprises exposing a section of a photosensitive material by modulating light from a light source and imaging the modulated light onto the photosensitive material, develop the section of the photosensitive material, measure the characteristics of the developed film while illuminated by the said light source, and adjusting the light source and/or light modulation according to the measurement. By using the same light source for exposing and measuring the film, good reproducibility can be achieved, as well as a reliable basis for the adjustments.
