  • Patent number: 10328553
Abstract: An adjustable open ended wrench having adjustable gripping jaws that grip inch or metric sized nuts or bolts and provides bidirectional release action of the gripping jaws that allows the user to loosen or tighten the nut or bolt without having to remove the wrench. The wrench is particularly suited for accessing nuts or bolts or nuts that are located in areas where rotational action is very restricted and may be provided with an adjustable torque release spring biased ball detent mechanism that can be set to release the grip of the gripping jaws if the gripping force exceeds a predetermined amount to prevent damage to the nut or bolt due to over tightening.

  • Patent number: 5381880
Abstract: An electro-mechanical coin totalizer for newspaper vending machines and the like includes a coin chute having an arcuate shoulder, a wake-up arm, and optical sensors for measuring a chord length on coins inserted in the totalizer. A coin inserted in the coin chute travels along the arcuate shoulder, whereby coin bounce is minimized and the accuracy of coin chord measurements is enhanced. The wake-up arm biases coins against the arcuate shoulder and reduces coin bounce in direct proportion to the size of the coin.

  • Patent number: 5245759
Abstract: A method and apparatus for finding an edge of a workpiece prior to machining the workpiece by a machine tool. The apparatus includes a collar that is mountable to be secured to the head of a machine tool. The collar has four flat surfaces spaced in quadrature on the outside surface thereof and an adjustable reference member extending outwardly therefrom for initial calibration. The apparatus also includes an edge finding assembly that is releasably clamped to the collar at the reference members for edge finding and carrying a dependent contact probe coupled to a dial indicator for indicating the movements of the contact probe, the collar and edge finding assembly being adapted to be fixed in a preselected vertical plane when mounted to the collar secured to the head of a machine tool for finding the true zero X & Y reference edges of a workpiece to be machined.

  • Patent number: 4878801
Abstract: A fully automated machine is capable of selecting a single "A"-frame storage tube for dual in-line integrated circuit packages from a number of such tubes in a bulk storage bin and then rotating that tube about its longitudinal axis so that the dual in-line packages can be fed into or out of the storage tube in either the live bug (leads down) or dead bug (leads up) positions. The machine will also remove and then replace the stop pin at one end of the storage tube.

  • Patent number: 4780956
Abstract: A head assembly for a burn-in board loader and unloader comprises a mounting block having a generally vertical track. A main body is mounted on the mounting block and afforded vertical movement along the track. The main body has a vertical bore through which a vertically movable plunger extends. The main body also comprises at least three vertical mounting wire holes spaced-apart around the bore. A floating crown having a vertical bore through which the plunger extends is mounted on the upper end of the main body by mounting wires which are fixedly attached at their upper ends to the crown and extend downwardly into the mounting wire holes. The mounting wires are fixedly attached at their lower ends to the main body at the lower ends of the mounting wire holes. The crown is preferably mounted to provide a gap between the crown and main body of about 0.005 inch.

  • Patent number: 4439917
Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically extracting a series of integrated circuit packages from their sockets without bending the leads thereof. A plurality of extraction fingers are caused to be moved between a socket mounting an integrated circuit package and the package to an extent to permit the package to be extracted from its socket in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the socket. The extracted packages are controlled after their release to cause them to travel through a checking station to determine the condition of their leads. The integrated circuit packages that have not been damaged will continue to travel down an incline and be accumulated. The damaged integrated circuit package will be held at the checking station and then ejected automatically from the apparatus during the operation of an extraction cycle.

  • Patent number: 4410170
Abstract: Machines for stapling and folding a stack of paper sheets, having a reciprocable tray to receive and move a stack of paper sheets between a rest, stapling position and a sheet-folding position; solenoid-operated staplers to staple together said sheets in a stapling line, a blade on said machine reciprocally movable between a rest position and a sheetfolding, extended position wherein an edge of said blade presses against said stack of paper sheets at said stapling line, a power-driven pair of spaced, opposed rollers with the nip between rollers aligned with said blade to allow said blade in its extended position and the bent stack of paper sheets thereon to enter said nip, whereupon said power-driven rollers grip and fold said sheets along said stapling line, electrically powered drive means to move said blade to extended position when said tray is moved into said sheet-folding position, whereby said power-driven pair of rollers lift the stapled, folded sheets off of said blade and convey said stapled, folded

  • Patent number: 4206912
Abstract: A sensing mechanism for commercially available printing machines wherein paper is automatically fed into the machine sheet by sheet. The sensing mechanism is adapted to be mounted to the machine for permitting it to sense the arrival of a stack of paper at a preselected location as the paper feed table is automatically elevated. When the preselected location is sensed, the table elevation is arrested to prevent the prior art paper "overfeeding" problems.
