    Abstract: A reference signal mapping method and a reference signal mapping device are provided. The reference signal mapping method includes steps of: determining a position of a RE to which a CSI-RS has been mapped in accordance with an N-port reference signal pattern, N being equal to 12 or 16; and performing a resource mapping operation on the CSI-RS in accordance with the determined position of the RE. The position of the RE to which the CSI-RS has been mapped in the N-port reference signal pattern being determined in accordance with a position of the RE to which the CSI-RS has been mapped in one or more of a 2-port reference signal pattern, a 4-port reference signal pattern and an 8-port reference signal pattern. As a result, it is able to achieve the 12-port or 16-port CSI-RS mapping, thereby to achieve the 12-port or 16-port CSI-RS transmission.

Because a terminal reports only CSI that is measured by the terminal within a specified measurement window, the frequency of feeding back CSI by the terminal is reduced, and CSI feedback overheads are also reduced.

    Abstract: A system and method for providing both localized and distributed transmission modes for EPDCCH is disclosed, where one EPDCCH comprises of one or multiple CCEs. Localized versus distributed transmission may be defined in terms of the EPDCCH to CCE resource mapping. In a localized transmission CCEs are restricted to be contained within one PRB. In a distributed transmission a CCE spans over multiple PRBs. A UE can be configured to either receive the EPDCCH only in localized or only in distributed transmissions. A UE can also be configured to expect EPDCCH transmissions in both localized and distributed transmissions. In each PRB configured by the higher layer as an EPDCCH resource, 24 REs that may be used for any DMRS transmission are always reserved and not used for EPDCCH transmission.
