According to the present disclosure, a secure access, authentication, and authorization can be ensured in an IPv6 network, and different IPv6 address prefixes are allocated to different terminals. Therefore, normal routing in the network is ensured. A method for processing an IPv6 packet provided in an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: an access node adds access line information to an IPv6 packet; and forwards the IPv6 packet that is added with the access line information to an IP edge node. The present disclosure is applicable to a scenario of processing a packet in an IPv6 network.

A first node receives a first data packet including a customer destination MAC address and customer data; generates a second data packet including a source virtual MAC address, a destination virtual MAC address and at least part of the first data packet. The at least part of the first data packet includes the customer destination MAC address and the customer data. The source virtual MAC address is a virtual MAC address assigned to the first node, and the destination virtual MAC address corresponds to the customer destination MAC address. The virtual MAC address assigned to the first node includes a first virtual MAC address segment with a first mask, which indicates a virtual MAC address space including virtual MAC addresses of child nodes of the first node. Then the first node forwards the second data packet.

The present disclosure achieves an optimal overall performance for the two stages of PONs by considering general conditions of the two stages of PONs, and meanwhile ensures a maximum available bandwidth for the two stages of PONs during formulation of bandwidth grants.

    Abstract: A PON ring system and a method for realizing primary and backup link protection in a passive optical network (PON) are provided. A PON ring is established between at least two optical line terminations (OLTs) through at least two user side edge nodes or network side edge nodes. Each of the OLTs is coupled to any other OLT through the at least two edge nodes. Two links respectively in a clockwise direction and a counterclockwise direction exist in the PON ring, in which one link is a primary link and the other is a backup link. Node of the links adopt the transmission mode of “multiple sending and selective receiving”. Therefore, the present invention reduces the impact on the PON caused by single link failure in the network.

By monitoring information transferred between an active optical line terminal (OLT) and a broadband network gateway (BNG), the aggregation node finds a fault in time according to the monitored information and when a fault occurs, the aggregation node starts a local protection solution, enables a corresponding backup port connected to a backup OLT corresponding to the active OLT, and disables an active port connected to the active OLT. Through the method, when the active OLT is switched to the backup OLT, the aggregation node performs joint switching, which ensures normal communication.
