    Abstract: A method for treatment of raw brines from desalination plants (6) having a total salt content greater than 60 g/l, wherein, inter alia, a magnesium ion-containing solution having a magnesium ion content greater than 1 g/l at a temperature between 75° C. and 100° C. is passed through a first vertical column (42) containing a bed packing of zeolite A (84) with a flow direction from top to bottom and the raw brine that is to be treated is passed at a temperature of 30° C. to 45° C. through this packed first column (42) in the direction of flow from top to bottom until the calcium ion concentration of the eluate leaving the first column (42) indicates a breakthrough of calcium ions through the bed of zeolite A (44).

    Abstract: Mass transfer sorption processes involve passage of a processed aqueous solution through a layer of granulated sorbent pre-filled with an organic liquid immiscible with either water or an aqueous solution under treatment. The apparatus for mass transfer of sorption processes is a vertical tank with inlet and outlet fittings loaded with a layer of sorbent disposed between the upper and the lower distribution and drainage systems. The industrial plant for separation of the components of aqueous solutions of inorganic substances includes the said apparatus and the apparatus for the separation of organic liquids from aqueous solutions. The latter has a casing with three chambers, the middle one of which is separated from the first outer one by a grid and from the other by a hydrophobic drainage layer. The emulsion to be separated is introduced into the middle chamber, and the separation results are derived from the outer chambers.

    Abstract: The invention is directed to the elimination of changes of the chemical composition of a pumped liquid caused by introduction of strange components or by modification of original components. Another object of the invention is to provide the possibility of use of electrodes of the first order in order to increase productivity and decrease size and cost of the micropump. For this purpose, the electrokinetic micropump comprises a multichannel structure 810 made of non-conducting material, for example, a piece of a polycapillary column. The inlet and outlet end of this structure are adjacent to electrode sections 803, 804 having openings 821, 822 for inlet and outlet of the pumped liquid. These sections are divided by ion-exchange membranes 811, 812 into chambers 813, 814 for flow of the pumped liquid, communicating with the ends 841, 842 of the multichannel structure, and chambers 815, 816 filled with an auxiliary medium for transfer of electric charges. In the latter electrodes 817, 818 are located.

    Abstract: A method for complex procesing of sea-water comprises the successive steps of mechanical filtration, calcium separation on modified zeolite, magnesium separation on weak-acid cation exchanger and processing of the resulting softened sea-water, regeneration of the modified zeolite and regeneration of the weak-acid cation exchanger. During the step of processing of the softened sea-water, its desalination it carried out so as to produce fresh water and simulatneously produce secondary brine having a concentration of salts at least as high as 100 g/l whereby the modified zeolite is regenerated. A plant for implemention of the method of complex processing of sea-water comprises a filter, two sorption columns for calcium separation connected in parallel with each other, a sorption unit for magnesium separation, a softened sea-water processing unit and a mixed concentrate processing unit.
