Publication number: 20140210450Abstract: Systems and techniques for return loss estimation are described. A forward power sample is taken from a power amplifier of a transmitter by sampling a feedback signal used for power control of the amplifier, and a reflected power sample at an output of the power amplifier is taken by observing the power at a circulator termination of the power amplifier. A difference determination is made for the forward power sample and the fleeted power sample in the analog domain to determine a return loss and may be digitized for further processing such as return loss measurement and comparison against thresholds. A further comparator circuit may be used to insure that measurements are made when the signal strength is adequate.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2013Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: Nokia Siemens Networks OyInventors: Darrell Barabash, Russell Morris, Donald Hutton

Publication number: 20140134961Abstract: The specification and drawings present a new apparatus and method for using a common local oscillator for multiple transceivers (e.g., in a BST unit). One or two shared local oscillators LOs/frequency sources in a wireless transceiver may be configured to generate corresponding one or more oscillator signals, so that the corresponding portions of the one or two oscillator signals generated by the one or two LOs may be provided to multiple transmitters and to multiple receivers through corresponding paths in the wireless transceiver. For example it may be a shared use of frequency sources/LOs between multiple pipes/branches of the BST (one local oscillator for all transmitters, and another local oscillator for all receivers in the multiple pipes/branches). The implementation may require proper routing, and amplification and/or frequency conversion if necessary, of the shared LO signals.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 9, 2012Publication date: May 15, 2014Applicant: Nokia Siemens Networks OyInventor: Russell Morris

Patent number: 7819132Abstract: A flow through pressure regulator apparatus and method for directing a flow of fuel within a fuel system. Present invention includes a lower housing having a fuel inlet where fuel flows through the fuel inlet and communicates with a valve biasing member through a fuel chamber and lower valve element with fuel passages. The valve biasing member permits or inhibits fuel flow through a fuel chamber by opening and closing a ceramic valve element. The valve biasing member comprises a flat disk having at least two reticulated concentric rings coupled by at least one bridge. The fuel flows past an open valve element through the lower valve element fuel passages to the valve biasing member. The valve biasing member then diffuses the flow of fuel. A fuel cover directs the flow of fuel from the valve biasing member to the fuel outlet.Type: GrantFiled: December 1, 2005Date of Patent: October 26, 2010Assignee: Continental Automotive Systems US, Inc.Inventors: Dawn M. Publication number: 20100118112Abstract: A group table top videoconferencing device for communication between local participants and one or more remote participants provides a camera assembly and display screens on the same housing—giving the remote participant the perception that the local participant is making direct eye-to-eye contact with him/her. The housing is placed such that the housing is within the field of view of every local participant viewing any other local participant. Because, the remote participant is always within the field of view of the local participant, the remote participant does not get the feeling of non-intimacy during the videoconference. A wall mounted display operates in conjunction with the videoconferencing device to display media content received from the remote participants. Keypad and a touch screen provide user interface for controlling the operation of the videoconferencing device. Speakers convert audio signals received from the remote participants into sound.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2008Publication date: May 13, 2010Applicant: POLYCOM, INc.Inventors: ALAIN NIMRI, Anthony Martin Duys, Brian A. Publication number: 20030228854Abstract: A system and method for combining the downlink signals from at least two transceivers to increase the power of the downlink signal. In-phase down link signals from at least two transceivers are combined to produce a downlink output signal having an output power level greater than the power level of any single downlink signal. Detector means, which samples the downlink signals to identify a phase difference is coupled to control a phase controller which adjusts the phase of at least one of the downlink signals to be in step with the phase of the other downlink signal. Patent number: 6633750Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for regulating the power consumption within a wireless communications mobile handset. A base station transmits an RF power output designating signal that indicates a desired level of the RF power output from the mobile handset. The mobile handset receives the RF power output designating signal, where it is used to set the level of the DC power supplied to the mobile handset. In this manner, the minimum amount of power necessary to maintain linear operation of the mobile handset is expended in the mobile handset. The DC power level is set by internally generating a control signal. The level of the control signal is dictated by the desired level of the RF power output as indicated by the received RF power output designating signal. The control signal is then applied to an RF amplifier circuit contained within the mobile handset to set the DC power level.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1999Date of Patent: October 14, 2003Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: Farron L.
