  • Publication number: 20110262948
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for efficiently converting methotrexate polyglutamates to methotrexate in a cellular extract by contacting the cellular extract with gamma glutamyl hydrolase under conditions suitable for efficient conversion of methotrexate polyglutamates to methotrexate.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 10, 2011
    Publication date: October 27, 2011
    Applicant: Exagen Diagnostics, Inc.

  • Patent number: 6921667
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for determining a level of a methotrexate polyglutamate (MTXPG) in a cellular extract by resolving at least one MTXPG in a cellular extract obtained from a human undergoing methotrexate therapy; and detecting at least one resolved MTXPG, thereby determining a level of the resolved MTXPG. A method of the invention can be useful, for example, for determining a level of MTXPG3, MTXPG4 or MTXPG5 or for determining a level of each methotrexate polyglutamate species (MTXPG1 to MTXPG7) present in the cellular extract.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 7, 2003
Date of Patent: July 26, 2005
    Assignee: Prometheus Laboratories, Inc.
Inventors: Thierry Dervieux, Russell B. Richerson

  • Patent number: 5705330
Abstract: A chemiluminescent assay utilizing a precomplex reagent of a probe comprising an enhancer compound such as a hapten and a conjugate comprising a chemiluminescent signal generating compound. Kits for performing such an chemiluminescent assay are also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 14, 1995

Inventors: Dinesh O. Shah, Russell B. Richerson
  • Patent number: 5075078
Abstract: Improved chromatographic strip binding assay devices are provided for determining the presence or amount of an analyte present in a patient sample. Assay label reagents interact with capture reagents immobilized in a testing region on the strip substrate to generate a visually detectable image indicative of the test result. The test result images include a minus sign (-) to indicate a negative test result for analyte which image is generated if the suspect analyte is absent in the patient sample and a plus sign (+) to indicate a positive test result for analyte which image is generated if the suspect analyte is present or is present at a pre-determined concentration in the patient sample. The immobilized capture reagents responsible for the location and configuration of the test result images are applied to the strip at an angled orientation with respect to the fluid flow direction of the strip to ensure that sharp substantially complete test result images are formed during performance of the assay.
