  • Patent number: 4730386
Abstract: A holder for pads on which dummy connector mates are fixed includes a U-shaped bracket arrangement grooved to receive the pads. Once the selected pad is in position threaded fasteners are extended into the edge cutouts in the pad to fix the pad in the holder.

  • Patent number: 4512071
Abstract: A tool holder conformed to receive connector insertion and extraction tools for use when assembling or disassembling multipin connectors comprises a hollow handle provided with a lateral cavity conformed to receive the grasping portion of the tool. The handle is formed of a resilient material structure, like Nylon, and is provided at the end thereof with a circular end opening communicating with the lateral cavity. To facilitate the receipt of the tool in the tool holder one holder surface over the cavity is cut away providing a lateral gap in the end opening which is of a smaller dimension than the corresponding dimension of the inserted tool. Thus the tool is snapped into the cavity and opening and is retained therein by the resilient action of the remaining holder structure.

  • Patent number: 4414736
Abstract: A contact insertion and extraction tool for use with multi-pin connectors is provided with an elongate handle having one fixed extension to which a first semi-circular tubular segment is attached and a sliding extension attached to a second semi-circular segment which, when articulated, opposes the longitudinal edges of the first tubular segment. When the segments are abutted against each other a cylindrical, hollow guide is formed which may grasp the lateral surfaces of a lead for insertion or extraction into the insulator block of the connector.

  • Patent number: 4028812
Abstract: A hand tool for verifying the proper installation of pins in the insulation body of a multi-pin connector, said tool including a tubular handle having received on the interior thereof a cylindrical casing. Formed around the periphery of the casing is an exteriorly directed groove communicating through a plurality of radially directed bores with an interior concentric cavity. A plurality of balls are received within the radial bores, each ball being further urged into the interior by an associated follower or bushing. Disposed within the groove around said bushings are two rubber O-rings dimensioned to urge the balls toward the interior cavity. A probe provided with a peripheral ball seat is received within the interior cavity of the casing to be thus retained by the balls in longitudinal translation. The probe then extends through a tubular guide to terminate on the free end thereof in a probe tip which can then be pressed against the male pin of a multi-pin connector.
