  • Patent number: 9878819
Abstract: A reusable container and a method of using same to transport fragile, yet heavy loads, is provided. The reusable container, preferably made primarily from wood, includes a base member, at least one vertical member having one or more vertical support members capable of being received in one or more interlock pockets in the base member, a top or lid and a cargo support member. These components interact in such a way as to provide for ease of assembly and disassembly by a single person, and to provide a container having great strength when assembled. More specifically, the at least one vertical member interlocks with the base member and adjacent vertical members, thus minimizing the need for supplemental fasteners.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 15, 2010
Date of Patent: January 30, 2018
    Assignee: PACKAGING ENGINEERING, LLC
Inventors: Russell G. Hall, Joseph J. Graber
  • Patent number: 9463898
Abstract: Aspects of the invention include a reusable, collapsible container, which when in a disassembled state is completely contained in an area no larger than the base member thereof, is easy to assemble, and due to the interlocking features of a number of the component parts of the container, requires a minimal number of separate locking/fastening devices.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 7, 2010
Date of Patent: October 11, 2016
    Assignee: Lamar & Associates, LLC
    Inventor: Russell G. Hall
  • Patent number: 8028849
Abstract: A reusable container comprises a base provided with a plurality of cut-outs, a lid provided with a plurality of cut-outs, and at least one wall panel comprising a plurality of tabs formed as unitary extensions of the wall panel, wherein the plurality of tabs engage the plurality of cuts-outs, securing the at least one wall panel to the base and to the lid. A back wall, a front wall brace, and at least one side wall brace provide support for the product. A method for electro-mechanically loading the container is also provided.
