  • Patent number: 4558391
Abstract: An electrically operated stapling apparatus is disclosed having a circuit utilizing a capacitor for driving the solenoid actuator for the apparatus. The circuit includes a fullwave rectifier for charging the capacitor with closely spaced dc pulses and includes circuitry for producing a plurality of charging levels for the capacitor depending upon the number of sheet material to be stapled. A reference circuit is also provided to insure the voltage level of charging is such that the operation of the apparatus is immune to line source voltage fluctuations.

  • Patent number: 4320960
Abstract: An automatic duplicating system in which computer fanfold documents are fed by an automatic handling apparatus having a tractor and drive control system for advancing the document across the platen of the processor for the system. An arrangement is provided which will shut down the system in the event there is a break in the fanfold material during a reproduction run or the end of the document has been attained during normal operation. Sensing devices are utilized in the path of movement of the document and a circuit is provided to produce a train of pulses in accordance with the movement of the document. The frequency of the train of pulses is compared with a reference frequency to insure proper operation.

  • Patent number: 4313672
Abstract: An automatic duplicating system in which computer fanfold documents are fed by an automatic handling apparatus having a tractor and drive control system for advancing the document across the platen of the processor for the system. An arrangement is provided which will control operation of the tractor and drive control system, and use is made of a stepper motor having many, small angled rotational movements which can be digitally controlled. A logic circuit arrangement is provided to energize and control the motor so that precise positioning of an edge of each frame section of the fanfold document can be made relative to a platen registration edge. In addition, the logic circuit is adapted to effect acceleration and deceleration of the motor in a controlled sense.

  • Patent number: 4299477
Abstract: An automatic duplicating system in which computer fanfold documents are fed by an automatic handling apparatus having a tractor and drive mechanism for advancing the document across the platen of the processor for the system. An arrangement is provided which will control operation of the tractor and drive mechanism for job recovery in the event there is a malfunction in the operation of the system and in order to keep the integrity of the count of copies being made. Operator actuated programmer is provided to assist in making up the lost copies.

  • Patent number: 4264189
Abstract: An automatic duplicating system in which computer fanfold documents are fed by an automatic handling apparatus having a tractor and drive means for advancing the document across the platen of the processor for the system. An arrangement is provided which will control operation of the processor and the automatic handling apparatus in order to acquire duplex copies of the simplex document. The arrangement includes circuitry and controls which advances the document in a manner wherein a copy of every other frame section is diverted to a holding station and then returned to be reprocessed on its underside with the image of the succeeding frame section.

  • Patent number: 3950640
Abstract: Control and switching circuits for maintaining appropriate balance of light output of a long multi-vapor arc lamp. The control circuit includes sensing, amplifier-reference, phase amplitude detector, time base generator and lamp switching logic branches. The switching circuit includes a silicon controlled rectifier bridge for reversing the polarity of current flow through the lamp. The silicon controlled rectifier bridge is triggered by output pulse chains from the lamp switching logic branch in the control circuit.
