Abstract: The heat shield-parallax/glare reduction device described in this application is produced by conventional machining methods from tempered aluminum. It provides for the elimination of vision distortion from barrel heat and is an effective sunshield. With the addition of one or more types of optical filters and polarization devices the shooter is able to control the condition of the light entering the lens and adjust for different environmental situations. The shield due to its length is also effective in the reduction of parallax error.
