  • Patent number: 11395823
Abstract: The instant disclosure provides methods and compositions related to discovery that topical administration of MEK inhibitors for the treatment of skin disorders (e.g., skin cancer, inflammatory skin disorders) is accomplished with markedly reduced dosage levels in comparison with oral administration dosage levels. Therapeutic and/or prophylactic uses and compositions of known MEK inhibitors are described.

  • Publication number: 20180369136
Abstract: Various implementations include a transdermal drug delivery system for treating basal cell carcinoma. The system includes a pharmacologic agent and an array of microneedles for creating pores in the skin surface and the stratum corneum layer of the epidermis, thereby enabling transdermal delivery of the pharmacologic agent. The pharmacologic agent includes itraconazole and/or vitamin D3. Various implementations also include a method of treating basal cell carcinoma in a subject. The method includes: (1) applying an array of microneedles to a skin site having basal cell carcinoma, such that the microneedles penetrate the surface of the skin and the stratum corneum layer of the skin; and (2) administering a pharmaceutical composition to the subject intradermally through openings in the skin formed by the microneedles, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmacologic chosen from itraconazole, vitamin D3, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 9709023
Abstract: A shut-off valve for a turbine of an oscillating water column may include a plurality of guide vanes configured to control a fluid flow into a flow passage defined by the turbine. The plurality of guide vanes may be at least partially disposed within the flow passage and may include a plurality of fixed guide vanes and a plurality of movable guide vanes. The plurality of fixed guide vanes and the plurality of movable guide vanes may be sequentially disposed in an alternating pattern in the flow passage.

  • Patent number: 9350561
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards visualizing the flow of resources in an allocation model. A visualization model may be selected based on an underlying allocation model. The visualization model may include visualization model items. Allocation model items in the allocation model may be mapped to the visualization model items included in the visualization model. If a visualization model item is selected, the source visualization model items that provide resources to the selected visualization model item may be determined. And, the target visualization model items that receive resources from the selected visualization model item may be determined. Input flow lines that start from the source visualization model items and end at the selected visualization model item may be generated and displayed. And, output flow lines that start from the selected visualization model item and end at the target visualization model items may be generated and displayed.

  • Publication number: 20060186118
Abstract: A reusable container comprises a base comprising a pair of frame members, a pair of end pieces and a center section, wherein the base is provided with a plurality of tab slots, a lid provided with a plurality of tab slots, and at least one wall comprising a plurality of locking tabs formed as unitary extensions of the wall, wherein the plurality of locking tabs engage the plurality of tab slots, securing the to the base and to the lid. A back brace carrier having at least one rib formed as a unitary extension of the back brace carrier cooperates with a rib on the lid to removably captivate a back brace. The back brace provides support for the product. The walls may have a length and define a first plane, and have unitary exterior ribs running along the length. The walls also have unitary corner flanges formed at a right angle to the first plane.
