  • Patent number: 11913907
Abstract: A breast pump device (1) is equipped with or used in conjunction with an acoustic milk expression assessment system (6) for the purpose of obtaining an indication about a fat content of expressed milk. The acoustic milk expression assessment system (6) includes an acoustic sensor (61) and a processor (62) configured to process an acoustic signal received from the acoustic sensor (61) during operation of the breast pump device (1) when a milk receptacle (4) is used with the device (1). By recording sound during a pumping session, it is possible to determine a frequency shift in the sound of droplets falling down in the receptacle (4) and hitting a surface of the milk contained by the receptacle (4) with respect to a reference situation of a liquid having 0% fat content, which can be taken as a factor in estimating a value related to the fat content of the milk.

  • Patent number: 8379752
Abstract: Embodiments include methods for determining synchronization/pilot sequences (SPS) to be utilized in conjunction with transmissions by antennas of a multiple-antenna transmitter. The SPS include pilot signals that are positioned at subcarriers that are orthogonal in frequency with subcarriers at which pilot signals of other antennas are positioned. The pilot signals may be unevenly spaced across the in-band subcarriers. The multiple-antenna transmit system generates a plurality of wireless signals, each of which may include an SPS having synchronization information in a first plurality of in-band subcarriers and the pilot signals in a second plurality of in-band subcarriers. The wireless signals are simultaneously radiated over a wireless communication channel using a different antenna. A receiver receives channel-affected versions of the wireless signals, and produces a corrected signal by applying corrections to the received signal based on estimated channel perturbations within the received signal.

  • Patent number: 8331420
Abstract: Embodiments of methods and apparatus for wirelessly communicating signals include one or more transmitters configured to generate a plurality of wireless signal for transmission. Each of the wireless signals includes a plurality of pilot signals represented in a plurality of unevenly spaced, in-band subcarriers. Pilot signals of each wireless signal are positioned at subcarriers that are orthogonal in frequency with subcarriers at which pilot signals of all other wireless signals are positioned. According to an embodiment, subcarrier indices each the plurality of pilot signals are determined using a third order or higher order polynomial parameterization of pilot subcarriers in conjunction with a convex optimization algorithm to produce pilot signals having near-optimal channel estimate mean square error (MSE) performance. The wireless signals are simultaneously radiated over a wireless communication channel using a plurality of co-located or distributed antennas.

  • Publication number: 20120151232
Abstract: One exemplary CPU in memory cache architecture embodiment comprises a demultiplexer, and multiple partitioned caches for each processor, said caches comprising an I-cache dedicated to an instruction addressing register and an X-cache dedicated to a source addressing register; wherein each processor accesses an on-chip bus containing one RAM row for an associated cache; wherein all caches are operable to be filled or flushed in one RAS cycle, and all sense amps of the RAM row can be deselected by the demultiplexer to a duplicate corresponding bit of its associated cache. Several methods are also disclosed which evolved out of, and help enhance, the various embodiments. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to enable a searcher to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure and is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20050027156
Abstract: An ocular brachytherapy device, generally comprising a catheter and wire, impregnated with radioactive material, are provided. The wire is formed having a desired treatment shape and size such that it can be placed near an area requiring treatment and effectuate treatment while not affecting adjacent areas. For ease in placement near such areas the wire is preferably formed using materials having properties that permit formation into a desired shape while allowing the wire to be straightened for retraction into the catheter, the shape returning upon removal from the catheter. The wire is preferably impregnated with radioactive material. When the catheter is placed near the area of treatment and the wire is pushed out of the catheter, the wire retakes the desired form and provides a therapeutic radioactive treatment to the area.
