  • Patent number: 11273570
Abstract: A system for controlling registration on a pouch knife machine of a longitudinally extending bandolier of content containing pouches separated by transverse seal seams moving along a feed path, with each pouch having a measurement reference. The machine includes a knife mechanism, a friction drag mechanism, and a friction drag adjustment mechanism. The system includes an optical reference, an optical image sensor, and a controller. The controller is configured to determine an actual position of the measurement reference relative to an optical reference, determine an alignment input based upon the actual position of the measurement reference relative to the optical reference, determine an alignment difference between a target position and the alignment input, and generate an adjustment command to change the position of the bandolier along the feed path after the alignment difference exceeds the operating range for the target position.

  • Publication number: 20160132896
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and/or hardware system optimizes regulatory compliance. An industry category for an enterprise is identified. A set of regulatory requirements for the industry category is stored in a database. The set of regulations are categorized by focus areas, summary requirements, and harmonized detailed requirements, wherein the focus areas describe components of regulatory requirements, wherein the summary requirements summarize each first tier subcomponent of the components of the regulatory requirements, and wherein the harmonized detailed requirements describe second tier subcomponents of each first tier component. Detailed requirements for each set of regulations are mapped to one or more of the focus areas, summary requirements, and harmonized detailed requirements. The detailed requirements are mapped to compliance resources. The compliance resources are executed to satisfy the detailed requirements.

  • Patent number: 6688408
Abstract: An auger drill directional control system includes a positional transmitter mounted on a drillhead at the front of a pipe, the positional transmitter transmitting directional and pitch signals to a positional receiver disposed above the grade at the desired terminal location of the drillhead; the positional receiver transfers the signal information to the positional processor that detects deviations by the drillhead from the desired course of travel and produces a correction signal to compensate for the deviation; the correction signal is transmitted by a control transmitter and is received by a control receiver disposed on the underground boring machine; the control receiver passes the correction signal to the control processor which converts the correction signal into a correction command that is delivered to an adjustment apparatus operatively connected with the drillhead.

  • Patent number: 5542199
Abstract: Pants pressing apparatus including a buck around which an operator turns the top or waist end of a pair of pants and cycles a pressing head with respect to the buck to perform the top end pressing operation. The apparatus includes a rotator mechanism including a clamp assembly which grasps the bottom end or cuffs of the pants and turns the cuffs and legs of the pants incrementally through 360.degree. as the operator is topping the waist end of the pants. The finished pants are thus free of any undesirable wrinkles.
