  • Patent number: 5891579
Abstract: Fixtures composed of a combination of a metallic core coated with a fused plasticized vinyl chloride coating and an overcoating barrier which shields the coating from atmospheric exposure possess superior resistance against outdoor weathering. The overcoating barrier protectively shields the plasticized vinyl chloride coating from microbiological and sunlight induced degradation. The fixture maintains the compositional integrity and appearance of a freshly manufactured fixture notwithstanding prolonged exposure to normally deteriorative weathering (e.g. bright sunlight, hot and humid) conditions. If desired, the protective barrier may include tractive imparting components which prevent slippage and improve upon surface traction. Thermosetting resins and especially the electrostatically applied powders particularly afford effective overcoating barriers for protectively shielding the plasticized vinyl chloride coating from degradation.

  • Patent number: 4773695
Abstract: A windshield attachment for a golf cart or the like comprising an upper panel hinged to a lower panel at a horizontal hinge for movement from upright closed position to a lower dependent open position. The lower panel is provided with vertically spaced crossbars of tubular type with slotted ends. Clamping units fit over the posts and extend into the crossbar slots in interlocking relationship with the bars to hold them in selected horizontal positions at the respective levels. A similar top crossbar is similarly mounted on the posts at an upper level to engage the edge of the top panel when closed.

  • Patent number: 4739779
Abstract: Apparatus for washing an article, especially an automobile, comprises an article through which the article can pass, nozzles mounted on the framework, a tank provided with means for maintaining pressure therein and connected to the nozzles, a valve for controlling the flow of liquid from the tank to the nozzles and a timer. Upon actuation, the timer opens the valve for a predetermined interval, thereby allowing liquid to flow from the nozzles and wash the article passing through the framework. The pressure within the tank ensures that at least a predetermined quantity of liquid is sprayed during the interval fixed by the timer, even if the pressure in a water main supplying the apparatus fluctuates.

  • Patent number: 4401346
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the operation of a door provided with a door closer comprises a body of ferromagnetic material mounted on a portion of a building adjacent the door, an electromagnet mounted on the door (the positions of the electromagnet and body may be reversed), a power supply, an actuator and a timer which connects the electromagnet to the power supply upon actuation by the actuator and disconnects the electromagnet from the power supply after a predetermined interval, thereby allowing the door closer to close the door.
