  • Patent number: 5791760
Abstract: A front running light assembly that is to be mounted to a front fender of a motorcycle, and including a housing having an open bottom portion leading to a cavity and a top portion having an opening. A translucent lens is positioned within the cavity and at least partially covers the opening. The lens is directly secured to the housing such that the lens maintains engagement with the housing when the housing is detached from a motorcycle front fender. The assembly further includes a base and a bulb mount for supporting a light bulb and secured to the base. The base is integrally formed with the lens, such as by molded the two parts from plastic. A resilient pad contacts the bottom portion of the housing and includes a wire opening for allowing electrical wires to pass through the pad and a bulb access opening for providing access to a light bulb supported by the bulb mount. Preferably, the pad is adhesively secured to the bottom portion of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5713653
Abstract: A motorcycle tail light assembly including a base having a light bulb mount and a wiring harness connected with the mount, and a mounting means for mounting the base to the motorcycle. The assembly further includes a cover, including a tail light lens, adapted to be positioned over the base, and an attaching means for attaching the cover to a motorcycle. The mounting means is designed to maintain connection between the base and the motorcycle when the cover has been removed from the motorcycle. The tail light assembly can also include a lens engaging portion, and the cover can include a housing and a license plate lens having a first portion and a second portion. The lens engaging portion of the base engages the second portion to force the first portion into engagement with the housing.

  • Patent number: 4970633
Abstract: Signal lamp assembly comprising a light source surrounded by transparent lens walls in four horizontal directions is produced by molding the lens walls in two portions and securing them together. Lens patterns can be molded in three directions, but due to molding limitations, the fourth side cannot be easily molded into a lens configuration. In order to provide a lens for the fourth side, a separately made molded lens insert is placed in receiving and retaining grooves prior to the housing portions being secured together. The resultant assembly retains the insert in desired position and lens walls are thereby effectively provided in the four directions.

  • Patent number: 4924367
Abstract: A molded synthetic resin signal lamp is formed by a pair of facing molded bowl shaped housing portions welded or otherwise connected together along a seam. In order to cover the seam to provide a more attractive appearance, the contact line is located beneath a groove and covered by an opaque band or strip. The band has mounting projections to facilitate assembly with one of the housing portions and the other housing portion is assembled therewith in a manner to sandwich the strip in the groove.

  • Patent number: 4629296
Abstract: A selectively adjustable convex mirror assembly for allowing a motor vehicle operator to see alternative rear views comprises a cylindrical housing and a circular convex mirror positioned in the housing. The housing is rotatably mounted on a swivel mechanism. The mirror is mounted in the housing in such a manner that rotation of the housing upon the swivel mechanism moves the convex mirror through a plurality of reflective orientations. A locking and indexing mechanism is provided to retain the housing in a selected position relative to the swivel mechanism and to provide for controlled and incremental rotation of the housing about the swivel mechanism. The entire assembly is secured to a planar mirror surface of an outside rearview mirror of a motor vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4045308
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the rate at which material is fed to a molten salt bath in a process utilizing the material to produce molten metal. The apparatus includes means for generating a signal that represents the actual level of the salt bath, means for generating a signal representing the density of the salt bath, and means for generating a signal representing the volume of the metal beneath the salt bath. A circuit is provided for receiving and storing an initial datum representing a desired concentration of the material in the molten bath, and for receiving the above signals, the circuit being further capable of calculating a bath level in response to said signals that will maintain the initial percent concentration of the material during the time molten metal is being produced and when molten metal is removed from the bath.
