    Abstract: A shim for rigidly attaching an electrical device, such as a receptacle or switch, to an electrical box is described. The shim has means for frictionally engaging the attachment screw preventing it from falling off before the screw is attached to the box. The shim is made in varying thickness with each thickness of shim made from a different color for ease of identification.
