Patent number: 11972760Abstract: The present disclosure relates to detecting the use of fake voice command to activate microphones of smart devices. In one embodiment, sound characteristics associated with an audio signal from a microphone of smart device may be compared with other microphones of the smart device in order to detect fake voice commands. In another embodiment, sound characteristics associated with the audio signal from the microphone may be compared with a threshold range of stored sound characteristics in order to detect fake voice commands. In some embodiments, a controller may triangulate a position associated with a source of a sound in order to detect a fake voice command. In a further embodiment, a controller may verify that a user or associated electronic device are near a smart device to authorize a voice command.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2020Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Carlos J P Chavez, Sacha Melquiades De'Angeli, Oscar Guerra, David M. Patent number: 11913267Abstract: A vehicle includes a chassis, a door track, a door operatively connected to the door track and adapted to move between a closed position and an open position, and a hinge assembly coupled to the door. The hinge assembly is movably coupled to the door track and includes a first bracket coupled to the door, a second bracket coupled to the first bracket, and a transport assembly coupled to the second bracket and adapted to move along the door track as the door moves between the open and closed positions. The transport assembly includes a coupling member for releasably coupling the second bracket to the transport assembly. Upon movement of the second bracket from the first position to the second position, the door moves to an extended open position with respect to the door track.Type: GrantFiled: December 15, 2021Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: The Braun CorporationInventors: Robert E. Bettcher, III, Russell Meyer

Patent number: 10554691Abstract: A security system for a network maintains security policies that each includes a risk level. The security system maintains groups, with each group being associated with a security policy. Assets of the network are assigned to groups according to the risk assessments of the assets. Security policy associated with a group is enforced against network traffic of an asset when the asset is assigned to the group.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2016Date of Patent: February 4, 2020Assignee: Trend Micro IncorporatedInventors: Russell Meyers, Scott Rivers, Matthew Laswell

Patent number: 9366351Abstract: A water tight valve with sealed flying leads is presented. The sealing is provided by an adhesive heat shrink collar that is affixed to the insulation of the flying leads. An overmolding is used to provide further protection of the terminal/wire contact interface and to seal against the exterior surface of the collar. The profile of the collar also provides a tortuous path that further prevents the ingress of any conductive fluid to the wire/terminal contact area.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2010Date of Patent: June 14, 2016Assignee: Robertshaw Controls CompanyInventors: Kevin J. Engler, Russell A. Meyer

Patent number: 7735556Abstract: An improved method for building a plug in a horizontal wellbore using a fluid pill pumped into the wellbore at the end of a fracturing treatment. The fluid pill includes a high concentration of an ultra lightweight proppant, such as a neutrally buoyant proppant or an ultra lightweight proppant mixture. The fluid pill is pumped down the wellbore until it almost reaches fractures within a zone of interest. The pumping is then ceased or reduced, allowing the fractures to partially close. The ultra lightweight proppant remains suspended within the fluid pill while stationary. The pumping is then resumed at a very slow rate or as a short pump burst, thus causing the proppant in the fluid pill to bridge off until a bridge plug is formed.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2008Date of Patent: June 15, 2010Assignee: BJ Services CompanyInventors: John Gordon Misselbrook, Russell Meyer, Darcy A. Schultz, Trevor Gordon Hayes, Quentin Shane Stang

Patent number: 7465894Abstract: A one time high fill pressure switch providing energy savings operation for use in a commercial or consumer appliance such as a clothes washing machine is provided. The one time high fill pressure switch provides multiple water level settings that may be selected by a user, including a maximum fill energy savings setting. Operation in the maximum fill energy savings setting allows a maximum fill level upon the first fill cycle of the programmed washing cycle. In subsequent fill cycles during the washing cycle, the one time high fill pressure switch limits the water level to a setting below the initial fill level setting. This operation is provided through the use of a hook feature on the pressure switch program cam that traps a reset spring support and is controlled by a cam follower in the pressure switch.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2007Date of Patent: December 16, 2008Assignee: Robertshaw Controls CompanyInventors: James E. Pearson, Russell A. Meyer
