    Abstract: A spine board having internal stiffening elements mechanically connected to an outer shell via a number of speed pins. A quantity of urethane foam fills the spaces between the stiffening elements and the shell. The speed pins permit the rotational molding of the shell about a pair of graphite reinforcing tubes, which better distributes the loads to be born among the outer shell, urethane filler, and stiffening elements, thereby increasing the life span of the board.
