  • Publication number: 20120316679
Abstract: A system, such as a robot, which responds to voice, gesture and other natural inputs from a user, is controllable when the user is out of range through use of a wireless controller. The wireless controller provides inputs that allow the user to enter commands that are a proxy for the voice and gesture inputs the robot otherwise recognizes. The controller can include, for example, a microphone for voice input, a pad for directional control, and a speaker and display devices to provide responses from the robot.

  • Publication number: 20120316680
Abstract: A robot tracks objects using sensory data, and follows an object selected by a user. The object can be designated by a user from a set of objects recognized by the robot. The relative positions and orientations of the robot and object are determined. The position and orientation of the robot can be used so as to maintain a desired relationship between the object and the robot. Using the navigation system of the robot, during its movement, obstacles can be avoided. If the robot loses contact with the object being tracked, the robot can continue to navigate and search the environment until the object is reacquired.

  • Publication number: 20100153857
Abstract: Embodiments provide a shared space for communicating information. In an embodiment a number of users associated with a computing environment can use a shared space to communicate information with one another. Each computing device of the computing environment can include a shared space application. The shared space application includes a number of interactive tools that can be used to persist various communications between associated computing devices of a computing environment.

  • Publication number: 20070136796
Abstract: A wireless authentication system for authenticating a user before allowing access to a protected resource is described herein. An authentication device receives an indication of an intent to access a protected resource. The authentication device sends a request for a key. The wireless user device and the authentication device may engage in a key exchange. The authentication device determines whether the one or more keys obtained via the key exchange are valid and may allow access to the protected resource if the one or more keys are valid. The authentication device may request further verification of the identity of the user, such as a keyholder verification. The authentication device may allow access to the protected resource if the key and the keyholder verification are valid.

  • Publication number: 20070027367
Abstract: An open architecture, wireless personal area network for receiving, storing, processing, displaying and communicating physiological data. The wireless personal area network may include a personal server, such as a cellular phone, and a plurality of sensors to monitor physiological signs, the user's motion, the user's orientation, and environmental factors. The sensors wirelessly provide data to the personal server, which may store, process, display, and communicate the data. An open architecture allows additional sensors to join the network without rendering the personal server irrelevant.

  • Publication number: 20060255963
Abstract: A wearable electronic device is configured to control and command a variety of wireless devices within its proximity. The wearable device dynamically generates a user interface corresponding to the services of a particular wireless device. Through the user interface, the wireless device surface content to a user and allows a user select interactions with the wireless devices using the wearable device.

  • Publication number: 20060123335
Abstract: Preview content is automatically downloaded to a user's device. When desired, the user may obtain more detailed information relating to the preview information. The more detailed information may be personalized to the user. The user may customize the preview content they receive on their device. For example, using a web interface, the user may select which preview information they wish to receive on their device. Preview content may also be automatically configured for the user. The preview information may be displayed on a low power auxiliary display which is readily visible by the user. The more detailed information may be automatically downloaded based on a user's preferences, or the user may explicitly request to receive the more detailed information.

  • Publication number: 20050119027
Abstract: An apparatus, system, and method are generally related to an antenna device that includes a pass-through interface such as for a USB device. The antenna device is enclosed in a housing. The pass-through interface includes two ports. The housing is coupled to the pass-through interface body such that one of the ports is blocked by a blocking member when the housing is in a first position. The blocking member prevents impact damage to the blocked port, while also preventing dirt and dust from collecting. The blocking member is cleared from the opening of the blocked port when the housing is biased into a second position by inserting a connector. The blocking member automatically returns to the first position when the connector is removed from the port. Antenna performance is improved by automatically aligning the antenna away from the connector, which may otherwise degrade performance.
