  • Patent number: 11154246
Abstract: As an IV infiltration occurs and fluid leaks into surrounding tissues, several physiological changes are expected locally. The systems and methods described herein provide a scalable automated IV infiltration detection device to provide medical staff an early warning of a possible infiltration such that they can respond accordingly. The systems and methods capture the physiological state of the user at or around a peripheral catheter insertion site by incorporating one or more modalities of wearable sensing, processing the data collected from these wearable sensors, detecting the presence of extravascular fluid, and providing an indication to a medical professional.

  • Publication number: 20210006064
Abstract: A surge monitoring circuit for detecting transient spikes in an input voltage includes a voltage divider circuit that generates a divider output voltage from the input voltage, a reference voltage generator circuit that generates reference voltages, and a comparator circuit that generates comparator signals by comparing the divider output voltage to the reference voltages. The surge monitoring circuit further includes a processor configured to predict, at least based on the comparator signals, an expected failure of a surge suppressor circuit that suppresses the transient spikes, where the comparator signals indicate detections of divider output transient spikes in the divider output voltage. The divider output transient spikes correspond to transient spikes in the input voltage, where the divider output transient spikes have a higher voltage than the one or more reference voltages.

  • Publication number: 20200315106
Abstract: An irrigation system having a pipeline supported by one or more towers includes an improved truss connection system having a means for readily adjusting a crown height of the pipeline. A pair of cooperating members define a joint which selectively couples headed ends of adjacent truss rods together to form a truss rail of a truss system that supports the pipeline. A single fastener may fasten the cooperating members, a strut, and a cross-member together at the joint. A length of the truss rail may be decreased by holding the truss rods closer together. In an aspect, the headed ends of the adjacent truss rods are held closer together by inserting a shim in one of the joints. Decreasing the length of the truss rail increases the deflection of the pipeline and raises the crown height.

The device includes an outer housing having a sidewall with top and bottom portions, a top plate coupled with the top portion that includes an opening therein, and a bottom plate coupled with the bottom portion that includes an opening therein. The sidewall cooperates with the top and bottom plates to define an interior volume. A plurality of bushing members formed of a low-friction material are positioned within the interior volume and include a surface cylindrically curved about an axis extending between the top and bottom plates of the housing. The cylindrically curved surfaces cooperate with the openings in the top and bottom plates to define a cylindrical passage through the interior volume sized and shaped for receiving a cylindrical tube that rotates therein, e.g., a tube configured to connect with a water supply column of a mechanized irrigation system.
