Feed data associated with a social networking service may be displayed in a multidimensional grid orientation that efficiently uses available display space, while improving the user experience. The feed data can be presented in a multidimensional grid orientation that leaves little empty display space, thus allowing efficient use of the display space. The feed data presented in the multidimensional grid orientation also can be dynamically updated when new feed data is received.

The user may prefer the concurrent presentation due to the contextual separation of the data items according to different filters, and may more easily administrate the filters and groupings; e.g., dragging data items from one column to another column may alter the filters to achieve a more preferred sorting of data items in future presentations.

When executed in a computing environment having an operating display space, the micro-monitor occupies a fraction of the operating display space which is occupied by other executing computing applications.
