The system receives a request to add a block at a first address, searches for a second address that is similar to the first address, and transmits a message to a user indicating that there may be an error when the second address closely matches the first address. The system also determines that the first address is registered and has been used, and when the first address is registered but has not been used, the system denies the request from the user to add the block to the ledger system or requests a confirmation from the user that the user wants to add the block to the ledger at the first address. The system also refrains from adding the block to the ledger for a predetermined threshold time period, and after an expiration of the predetermined threshold time period, adds the block to the ledger.
