Patent number: 10293992Abstract: An anti-refill closure assembly comprises a closure body having an upper spout portion and a lower fitment portion configured for securement to an associated container. The closure body defines at least one flow passage through which liquid from the container enters the closure body. A reciprocable valve member is positioned within the closure body for movement between opened and closed positions. In the opened position of the valve member, liquid from within the container flows into the closure body through the at least one flow passage, and past the valve member outwardly through the upper spout portion. In the closed position of the valve member, the valve member acts to prevent the reverse flow of liquid from the outer spout portion back through the valve body and into the associated container.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2014Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: Closure Systems International Inc.Inventors: Patrick Zweigart, Jr., Navaneeth Bashyam, Russell Tartock, Daniel Elliott

Patent number: 9085395Abstract: A plastic closure embodying the principles of the present invention comprises a closure cap having a top wall portion, and an annular skirt portion depending from the top wall portion. The skirt portion includes an internal thread formation for threaded engagement with the external thread formation of an associated container. In order to facilitate high-speed application, and minimize the use of polymeric material, the closure is configured to exhibit a variation in retention force which decreases in a direction away from the top wall portion of the closure cap.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2012Date of Patent: July 21, 2015Assignee: Closure Systems International, Inc.Inventors: Sohail Sadiq, John Edie, David E. Gevers, William Moll, Navaneeth Bashyam, Pranav Bhatt, Russell Tartock

Patent number: 7736332Abstract: A safety shield is provided including a piercing member having a proximal end, a distal end and defining a longitudinal axis. A clip defines a first cavity dimensioned for movement of the piercing member therethrough and is oriented in an axis transverse to the longitudinal axis. The first cavity is movable between a movable orientation and a binding orientation. The clip includes a first leg that defines a second cavity dimensioned for movement of the piercing member therethrough and a distal part being configured to engage a medical device. The clip further includes a second leg having a bearing surface that engages the piercing member. The legs are biased for convergent movement such that the first cavity is disposed in the binding orientation and the distal part of the first leg disengages the medical device.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2004Date of Patent: June 15, 2010Assignee: Tyco Healthcare Group LPInventors: James Carlyon, Richard L. Fiser, Russell Tartock

Publication number: 20050111114Abstract: A vehicle window includes a first window side and a second window side. The first window side includes an optical center and a plurality of grooves positioned about the optical center. The grooves have a number of dimensions including a depth and a width. The grooves define surfaces effective to redirect light that passes through said window. At least one dimension of the grooves is varied about the optical center. The window is effective to provide a plurality of angles of light redirection about the optical center.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2003Publication date: May 26, 2005Inventors: Shane Bode, Alan Batman, Russell Tartock
