  • Patent number: 5485911
Abstract: A cantilevered-shaft type roller conveyor in which roller units are cantilevered inwardly from side frames. Each roller unit includes a sleevelike roller member supported directly on and surrounding a drive member, the latter being rotatably supported on a cantilevered shaft which is secured to and projects inwardly from the side frame. The drive member has a bevel drive gear which is fixedly and integrally formed on an inner free end thereof, which drive gear is driven from a mating bevel gear secured to a rotatable line shaft which is positioned inside the respective side frame and extends longitudinally of the conveyor. The drive member is preferably constructed of a suitable bearing material, such as sintered metal, to function both as a driving member and as a bearing to permit direct rotatable support of the sleeve roller member.

  • Patent number: 5454497
Abstract: A carrier for supporting a beverage container includes an extruded tubular body having top and bottom openings. A lace which hangs around the user's neck is mounted on the sidewall of the body so as to span the bottom opening to retain a container in the body. The wall of the carrier has a series of expandable corrugations or a flexible stretchable solid body so that the body can expand to accommodate the diameter and longitudinal shape of the beverage container.

  • Patent number: 5415399
Abstract: A golf putter having a head with an opening. The lower end of the putter's shaft has a bushing received in the opening. A slug having a multi-faced mid-section is received in a central opening in the bushing. The slug has shoulders connected to the head in such a way that the angle of the shaft with respect to the head depends upon the slug configuration. One version employs a club head with a longitudinal channel for supporting the lower end of the shaft in an adjusted position. The shoulders on the slug that seat in the sides of the channel. Another version employs a club head with a back opening for receiving the slug. The shaft has a pair of telescopically connected sections that can be incrementally adjusted to change the shaft length. An auxiliary shaft can be added to increase the overall length of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5318167
Abstract: A control system for a power driven conveyor line having power driven conveyor zones adjoined end to end. Each conveyor zone includes a single drive motor, a transmission, driven conveying elements extending the length of the conveyor zone, and an adjacent workstation having a designated stopping point located therein. The control system includes a local controller for controlling the operation of one or more conveyor zones via remote command signals, a respective zone controller associated with each conveyor zone for controlling the operation of the conveyor zone in response to the remote command signals, and first and second sensors coupled to each zone controller for detecting different load positions along the conveyor zone. The first sensor detects the load which causes the zone controller to linearly decelerate the motor, and necessarily the load, from a first speed to a second speed.

  • Patent number: 5290041
Abstract: A game apparatus includes a series of hand-thrown projectiles and two cooperating ground targets. Each projectile includes a hollow-elongated projectile body that forms a tubular handle and a hollow bulbous nose. A quantity of water is located within the nose to concentrate the projectile weight in the nose. The projectile is thrown with an underhanded swinging motion so that the weighted nose constitutes the leading end of the projectile during flight. End surfaces of the projectile are blunt or rounded so that if the projectile should forcibly strike a person, there will be minimal injury to the struck person.

  • Patent number: 5168976
Abstract: A stop mechanism mountable on a powered conveyor, such as a conveyor having continuously-driven drive rollers which support and drivingly move loads such as pallets. The stop mechanism is mounted directly under and between sidewardly-spaced drive rollers to permit use of through shafts between sidewardly-spaced pairs of drive rollers. The stop mechanism has a vertically-oriented stop lever which projects upwardly for contacting a moving load, which contact effects limited vertical swinging of the lever into engagement with a fixed stop. The lever is coupled to a hydraulic shock absorber which effects rapid deceleration of the load to cause cushioned contact thereof with the fixed stop. The shock absorber preferably has an internal orifice arrangement associated with a pressure chamber which results in the orifice flow area progressively decreasing as the stop lever is moved by the load to provide more optimum control over liquid pressure and control over the resistance force imposed against the load.

  • Patent number: 5135275
Abstract: A bowling ball carrier formed by two upright facing panels hingedly connected together at their lower edges. The ball is gripped by circular flanges extending from the panels at the edges of circular holes in the panels. Upper face areas of the panels abut together to form a hand grip for the ball carrier.
