  • Patent number: 10426465
Abstract: A device for deploying a staple into desired bone has a staple cartridge for retaining a bone staple and a spring-loaded plunger shaft having a distal end proximal to the bone staple, the plunger shaft being retained in a proximal orientation by a latch. Squeezing a trigger releases the latch, so that the plunger shaft moves to its distal position, striking the staple and deploying the staple distally into a bone site. An additional method step, in the event that one wishes to deploy a differently sized staple, involves detaching the staple cartridge from the device and attaching a differently-sized staple cartridge to the device.

  • Patent number: 10172613
Abstract: A device for deploying a staple into desired bone has a staple guide for retaining a bone staple and a spring-loaded plunger shaft having a distal end proximal to the bone staple, the plunger shaft being retained in a proximal orientation by a latch. Depressing an actuator releases the latch, so that the plunger shaft moves to its distal position, striking the staple and deploying the staple distally into a bone site. An additional method step, in the event that one wishes to deploy a differently sized staple, involves detaching the staple guide from the device and attaching a differently-sized staple guide to the device. In order to avoid inadvertent deployment of the staple, a safety cover may be provided, in which case a further method step involves removing a safety cover from the device prior to the depressing step.

  • Publication number: 20150039029
Abstract: A system for syndesmosis repair includes a flat band secured to bone by pulling a metal button through both the tibial and fibula bones, which button is then toggled into position to create tension, along the band, across the two bone segments to be fixated. Once the button is secure against the bone, flat suture tails against the lock at the initial insertion site serves to tension the band and bone segments in place. The system band offers syndesmosis repair with a knotless closure. The system is designed to provide this stabilized fixation for bone fractures, osteotomies, and arthrodesis, plus soft tissue to bone attachment, if desired. It is designed to apply a restorative fixation force across the tissue segments to stabilize them. The band's rigidity and compliant nature provides consistent and rigid fixation during the healing phase.

  • Patent number: 7879008
Abstract: The control device is used to control delivery of fluid from a fluid delivery system during a medical injection procedure. The fluid delivery system includes an injector adapted to actuate a syringe used to deliver the injection fluid to a patient. The control device is operatively associated with the injector for controlling discrete flow rates of injection fluid delivered to the patient. The control device includes a housing and an actuator associated with the housing. An electronic substrate is disposed within the housing and comprises a conductive pattern. The actuator is adapted for operative association with the conductive pattern. The conductive pattern includes a plurality of predetermined digital values corresponding to discrete flow rates of injection fluid to be delivered by the injector, such that when the actuator is actuated the actuator operatively associates with the conductive pattern for transmitting the digital values to the injector.
