  • Publication number: 20090297071
Abstract: A flexible bag having a reclosable zipper construction in which material is provided on the inside face of one or both zipper flanges that results in a weak seal area or an unsealed area when the side seals are made. The weak seal area or unsealed area is located on the product side of the zipper closure profiles. Elevated pressure inside the bag will cause the weak seal area of the side seal to fail as intended or will cause the zipper flanges in the unsealed area to separate, resulting in a venting action during cooking of the bag contents. For example, steam inside the bag can escape through the vent or vents while the zipper remains closed. Preferably the bag has a bottom gusset so that it can stand upright in a microwave oven. The bag may be opened to add contents, resealed and then heated.

  • Patent number: 7527585
Abstract: A method of manufacturing flexible containers that are hermetically resealable. Each resealable container comprises a receptacle and a pair of plastic zipper strips. The zipper strips are flattened at the ends within the side seal regions and are joined to each other, without substantial deformation of the closure profiles, in respective transition areas substantially contiguous with the side seals. These transition areas of zipper strip joinder assist in providing a leakproof transition from the openable section of the zipper to the side seals, where the closure profiles are fused and flattened (i.e., crushed).

  • Patent number: 4849322
Abstract: Photopolymer positive surprint color proofing film based on epoxy acrylate monomer exhibits low dot gain, low time dependence of toning and good tonal range. Binder can be methylmethacrylate/ethyl acrylate/acrylic acid copolymer, preferably cross-linked with zinc ions and plasticized with a second acrylate monomer and a mixture of triacetin and trimethylol propane.

  • Patent number: 4480026
Abstract: In preparing an opaque backing layer for a photographic film, superior covering power and coating dispersion stability are obtained by (1) dispersing carbon black in a minor phase of polyvinyl pyrrolidone/vinyl acetate copolymer before addition of a major phase of polyvinyl alcohol, and (2) delaying the addition of surfactant or coating aids until after complete mixing of the polyvinyl alcohol with the solid carbon black dispersion. This coating dispersion is particularly useful for the preparation of a dischargeable opaque backing layer for a diffusion transfer film element.
