Abstract: A solids interceptor and methods of using the same. The solids interceptor includes a tank including an open end, a wastewater inlet, and one or more wastewater outlets. A basket assembly is removably attachable to the tank via the open end between an operable position and a removed position. The basket assembly may seal the open end when in the operable position and expose the open end of the tank to a surrounding environment when in the removed position. A first and second outlet may extend away from an interior of the tank in a first and direction, respectively, with the second direction being oriented at an angle with respect to the first direction. The basket assembly may include a seal that is compressed about a circumferentially extending corner provided on the tank to thereby seal the open end of the tank and the plumbing system.

The basket and tank include an interlocking flange assembly that automatically axially aligns a basket inlet with an inlet pipe simply by inserting the basket into the tank. The basket is removable from the tank to easily clean out and discard solid waste accumulated in the basket.

The applicator includes a pickup mandrel for picking up the bail handle to be applied to a container; a stationary mandrel for receiving the bail handle from the pickup mandrel, the stationary mandrel having an engaging surface which has a diameter larger than an inner diameter of the bail handle when picked up by the pickup mandrel; and an applicator mandrel for receiving the bail handle from the pickup mandrel, the applicator mandrel having an engaging surface which has a diameter equal to or smaller than the stationary mandrel.

A handle includes at least one radially oriented tab movable to define a first diameter being greater than a diameter of the flange and configured to facilitate translation over the flange. The at least one tab is biased to a second diameter that is less than the flange diameter such that the at least one tab engages the flange to fix the handle with the container. Packaging products, containers, handles, tooling, applicators and methods are disclosed.
