    Abstract: Disposable personal care products, such as diapers, feminine care products and adult incontinence products, are provided. More specifically, disposable personal care products having improved absorbent core integrity and core absorbency are provided. These products eliminate the need for costly adhesives. A method for making the products is also provided. The method includes forming a plurality of localized compressions by ultrasonically compressing the natural fiber core between, although not necessarily adjacent to, at least one upper and at least one underlying fusible material. The periphery of the article is then bonded by conventional means, such as adhesives, crimping or fusing. This process reduces costs associated with the manufacturing of such articles by eliminating or reducing the amount of adhesives in the final product, and by eliminating costly and intermittent bonding procedures.

    Abstract: A refastenable diaper is provided with a securing zone on the diaper outer cover of a peak strength of less than 2750 grams/inch. A refastenable adhesive taping system for the diaper includes an adhesive fastening tape comprising a flexible backing and a layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive permanently combined to said flexible backing and adapted to be applied to and released from the securing zone to fasten and open the diaper. The adhesive exhibits a 180.degree. peel adhesion of the tape to the securing zone that is less than the peak strength of the securing zone. The adhesive is selected to be within a specified rheological window, that is, have a maximum tan delta, or (tan delta).sub.max, of from 1.5 to 2.5 at 20.degree. C., reached at a frequency, or (w).sub.max, of greater than 500 rad/sec.

    Abstract: A polysiloxane adhesive composition that is useful in attaching products to human skin. A disposable absorbent product may be prepared that includes the polysiloxane adhesive composition and that may be adhered directly to human skin and peeled off after use with little or no pain to the wearer. In one embodiment, the polysiloxane adhesive composition exhibits a shear storage modulus value, as measured at about 20.degree. C. and at about 10 radians per second, of less than about 1.times.10.sup.5 dynes per square centimeter; a hardness value of less than about 5 durometer units (Shore 00), a tan delta value, as measured at about 20.degree. C. and at a frequency of about 10 radians per second, of between about 0.4 to about 2.0; and a maximum peel strength value of between about 35 to about 900 grams of force per 13 millimeters of width, as measured at a peel rate range of 0 to about 5000 millimeters per minute.

    Abstract: An article includes a distinctive refastenable adhesive taping system. The article comprises an outer cover which has waistband sections positioned at opposite ends thereof and has an intermediate section which interconnects the waistband sections. The outer cover includes a securing zone which is located at a first of the waistband sections and which provides a landing surface appointed for receiving adhesion of one or more adhesive tabs thereon. The securing zone has a selected peak tensile strength and a selected rigidity value. An adhesive tab is located at at least one lateral side edge of a second of the waistband sections for securing the waistband sections around a wearer. The tab includes a backing layer and an adhesive layer, and, when adhered to the landing surface, has a 180.degree. peel adhesion value which is less than the peak strength of the securing zone.

The nonadhesive coating facilitates positioning the article relative to the anatomy of a user.
