Patent number: 8205282Abstract: The pillow includes a pillow tick which includes first and second substantially identical fabric members. A chamber extends along the length of the pillow at one longitudinal edge thereof. An air bladder member with crushable foam or polyester pellets is positioned within the chamber. A valve extends from the air bladder member to provide adjustable neck support. Pressure is exerted on the foam with the valve open. When the desired firmness is achieved, the valve is closed. Two baffle members are positioned in the tick volume between the other longitudinal edge of the tick and the chamber. The tick volume contains natural or synthetic fill. The baffles angle toward each other to provide good support and comfort and to reduce movement of the fill.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2010Date of Patent: June 26, 2012Assignee: Pacific Coast Feather CompanyInventors: Ruth L. Brogan, Laura A. Regan

Publication number: 20110179576Abstract: The pillow includes first and second fabric layers and third and fourth fabric layers, all of which are identical and secured together around the peripheries thereof. Positioned between the first and second fabric layers is a baffle structure which includes first and second lateral baffles extending across the width of the pillow and positioned at approximately one-third and two-thirds of the longitudinal distance (dimension) of the pillow. The baffle structure includes two central baffles, two first end baffles and two second end baffles, arranged to define baffle boxes of approximately equal size. The two central baffles extend longitudinally from one lateral baffle, leaving a space between the free ends thereof and the other lateral baffle to permit filling of the pillow. The first end baffles extend from the one lateral baffle a selected distance, leaving a space between the first end baffles and one lateral edge of the pillow to permit filling of the pillow.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2010Publication date: July 28, 2011Applicant: PACIFIC COAST FEATHER COMPANYInventors: Laura A. Patent number: 7562405Abstract: The pillow includes first and second substantially identical inner shell layers and first and second substantially identical outer shell layers. The first and second inner layers and first and second outer layers are secured together around the peripheries thereof. Extending laterally across the pillow in the width dimension are two spaced baffle members which are secured to the two inner shell layers and extend between the two inner shell layers, defining three chambers along the length of the pillow. The two baffle members either angle away from each other from one longitudinal edge of the pillow to the other longitudinal edge or extend parallel or slightly toward each other from the one longitudinal edge to a point approximately 12 inches from the one longitudinal edge and then curve away from each other to the other longitudinal edge of the pillow.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2007Date of Patent: July 21, 2009Assignee: Pacific Coast Feather CompanyInventor: Ruth L. Publication number: 20090106904Abstract: The pillow includes at least two substantially identical pillow shell layers secured to each other around the peripheries thereof. Each layer has corner configurations defined by approximately straight, inwardly directed tapered end portions of adjacent edges, which meet at corner points, wherein the angle between the meeting end portions of adjacent edges is in the range of 120°-140°.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2007Publication date: April 30, 2009Applicant: PACIFIC COAST FEATHER COMPANYInventors: Laura A. Patent number: 7467432Abstract: The pillow includes first and second fabric sections which are secured around the peripheries thereof to form an interior volume. First and second baffle members are positioned within the interior volume, attached to the first and second fabric sections. The first and second baffle members extend in the longitudinal direction of the pillow about the center thereof and are spaced approximately equidistant laterally from the center line of the pillow. The baffle members either parallel each other or curve away from each other from the midpoints to the free ends thereof. Baffle members are configured and positioned such that there is substantial space between the baffle members, respectively, and the peripheral edge of the pillow.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 2007Date of Patent: December 23, 2008Assignee: Pacific Coast Feather CompanyInventor: Ruth L Brogan
