Abstract: A composite spacer fabric comprises an outer flat warp-knitted fabric layer having openings each formed by a respective plurality of stitches and an inner flat warp-knitted fabric layer also having openings that are each formed by a respective plurality of stitches. The second warp-knitted fabric layer further has at least a first and a second yarn system. The yarns of the first yarn system run in a production direction on exactly one respective stitch wale and the yarns of the second yarn system extend over at least two adjacent stitch wales that run in the production direction. Spacer yarns interconnect the warp-knitted fabric layers.
