  • Patent number: 6277027
Abstract: A hydrodynamic torque converter is embodied with a converter housing that, on its side facing a drive, has a substantially radially-running primary flange. Attached to the primary flange are a central pin for mounting and a holder for holding the converter housing on the drive, as well as a housing hub for mounting a transmission shaft of an output. At least one of the connecting elements on the primary flange (i.e., the holder, the housing hub and the central pin) is connected to the primary flange by an outward pressing. The holder, housing hub and central pin respectively establish a connection between the primary flange and the drive or output. This connection to the primary flange is created by material displacement into an opening in the connecting element in question, which opening is located on the side facing away from the connection.

  • Patent number: 6216836
Abstract: A housing component for a hydrodynamic clutch device, especially a hydrodynamic torque converter, possesses a friction surface region for a converter lock-up clutch of the clutch device on a first side which is positionable for facing the interior of the clutch device. This housing component is formed by, at least in the region of the friction surface region, the reshaping of a metal component. On a second side of the housing component lying opposite to the first side a surface structuring is formed in a region corresponding to the friction surface region by reshaping of the metal component to form the friction surface region.

  • Patent number: 5950483
Abstract: A hydrokinetic torque converter includes an impeller driven by an internal combustion engine, a turbine coupled to an output shaft, and a stator that can be blocked in one rotational direction, which together form a converter circuit filled with converter fluid, which is supplied from a supply container by a hydraulic supply system through supply lines and return lines, at least one of which is in flow connection with at least one opening, which is provided on a separating wall located between the turbine hub and the associated casing cover of the converter housing and connects that line to a chamber defined by the casing cover and an adjacent converter element. The separating wall is integrally constructed with the casing cover and preferably acts in the radial extension area of the turbine hub as an axial support for supporting the turbine hub against axial movements.

  • Patent number: 5813227
Abstract: Hydrodynamic torque converter which comprises blade wheels in the form of a reactor, a pump wheel and a turbine wheel with individual blades which are connected to an outer wall, whereby a torque can be transmitted from the pump wheel to the turbine wheel by means of pressure medium which flows along a flow path from the pump wheel to the turbine wheel, and is transported via the reactor back to the pump wheel, whereby at least one blade wheel comprises at least one stabilizer ring which creates a connection of the individual blades on their exposed sides, and by means of which stabilizer ring the flow path of the pressure medium can be influenced to reduce the flow losses.
