Patent number: 11709023Abstract: The present invention discloses a heat exchanger system for thermochemical storage and release. The system comprises a thermal exchange circuit with a heat exchanger fluid, the circuit further in thermal connection with a thermochemical module. The thermochemical module comprises a thermochemical material that stores and releases heat by a thermochemical exchange process under release or binding of a sorbate. The thermochemical module comprises a compartment structure that compartments the thermochemical material and further comprises a channel structure. This provides an exchange of the sorbate and the thermochemical material via the channel structure to the compartment structure. A method for the preparation of the compartment structure is also described. Publication number: 20230056787Abstract: The invention relates to a sensible heat storage apparatus that comprises a core material that can be heated to a high temperature while it has been placed in a heat transfer fluid that absorbs essentially all the heat that is lost by any heat leakages from the core material. Accordingly, there is a very low, or almost absent overall heat loss, even though the sensible heat storage apparatus can store heat at a very high temperature. The gist of the invention is further that the high amount of heat can gradually be transferred to the HTF, which heat can in turn be put to use for domestic applications (e.g. domestic hot water and/or space heating) or for steam generation.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 10, 2021Publication date: February 23, 2023Inventors: Martin Mohana, Pavol Bodis, Laurens Daniël Van Vliet, Ruud Cuypers

Patent number: 11292894Abstract: The invention describes a composite material for heat storage comprising a thermochemical material (TCM) encapsulated in a water vapour permeable polymeric material. The thermochemical material preferably comprises at least one salt, at least one salt hydrate or a mixture of these, wherein the salt is preferably capable of binding water in an exothermic reaction, such as calcium chloride. Encapsulation in a water vapour permeable polymeric material results in an improved stability, cyclability of the thermochemical material, a reduced regeneration temperature and reduced corrosion of the environment. The composite according to the invention is particularly suitable for energy storage, preferably in the field of building and construction, and more preferably in the seasonal storage of solar energy.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2019Date of Patent: April 5, 2022Assignee: NEDERLANDSE ORGANISATIE VOOR TOEGEPAST-NATUURWETENSCHAPPELIJK ONDERZOEK TNOInventors: Ruud Cuypers, Adriaan Jan De Jong, Jacobus Eversdijk, Hendrik Pieter Oversloot, Johannes Christiaan Van 'T Spijker, Nicole Ellen Papen-Botterhuis
