  • Publication number: 20230115422
Abstract: A method of operating a variable speed pumping system. The method includes measuring a first power consumption value of a pool pump at a first speed, estimating a first total dynamic head value at the first speed, measuring a second power consumption value of the pool pump at a second speed, estimating a second total dynamic head value at the second speed, and generating a system friction curve based on the first total dynamic head value and the second total dynamic head value. The method also includes categorizing the variable speed pumping system into a pumping system category based on the system friction curve and recommending a modification to the variable speed pumping system based on the pumping category.

  • Patent number: 8146091
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and program product manage a plurality of resources of at least one logically partitioned computing system of the type that includes a plurality of logical partitions managed by a partition manager with an application level administrative console resident in a logical partition of the computing system. Each logical partition is allocated at least a portion of the plurality of resources. A user request to adjust the allocation of at least a portion of the resources using the administrative console is received. The resources of the logically partitioned computing system to adjust in order to satisfy the user request are determined using the application level administrative console. The application level administrative console accesses the partition manager through a resource allocation interface to adjust the determined resources of the logically partitioned computing system in order to satisfy the user request.

  • Patent number: 7633379
Abstract: A pallet content identification mechanism is a small electronic device that is attached to a pallet. The pallet content identification mechanism reads RFID tags on the pallet using an RFID portal scanner, converts the RFID information into corresponding barcode information, and transmits the corresponding barcodes to a barcode-based inventory control system in a format that looks like output of a wireless barcode scanner. In this manner the pallet identification mechanism allows a user to benefit from RFID technology on the pallet while still using barcode technology in the barcode-based inventory control system.

  • Patent number: 7378940
Abstract: A pallet content identification mechanism is a small electronic device that is attached to a pallet. The pallet content identification mechanism reads RFID tags on the pallet using an RFID portal scanner, converts the RFID information into corresponding barcode information, and displays the corresponding barcodes on a small display. These barcodes may then be scanned by a conventional barcode scanner, thereby allowing all of the items on the pallet to be scanned into the barcode system without unpacking the pallet. The pallet identification mechanism allows a user to benefit from RFID technology on the pallet while still using barcode technology in the inventory control system.
