  • Patent number: 11156612
Abstract: The present disclosure provides methods of evaluating a subject, e.g., a subject at risk for or suffering from a pKal-mediated or bradykinin-mediated disorder, based on values (e.g., percentages) of intact and/or cleaved kininogen in a sample of the subject. Provided methods permit analysis of patients with plasma kallikrein-mediated angioedema (KMA), or other diseases mediated by pKal useful in the evaluation and treatment. Such methods can involve the use of a detection agent that preferentially binds cleaved kininogen or intact kininogen.

  • Publication number: 20190368728
Abstract: A radiative recuperator preheats oxidant and/or fuel for combustion at one or more burners of a furnace. The recuperator includes a duct, at least portions of which comprise a material having a thermal conductivity of greater than 1 W/(m·K), preferably greater than 3 W/(m·K), that receives hot flue gas produced by the burner(s). The duct radiatively transfers heat to oxidant or fuel (for preheating) flowing through one or more metallic pipes disposed in between the duct and an insulating wall.

  • Patent number: 9878278
Abstract: Entrained metal hydride particle are removed from a flow of hydrogen from a Mg-based hydride storage unit using not only a particle filter but improvements for reducing or eliminating drastic changes in flow. In addition to or alternative to removal of entrained metal hydride particles, methane produced by reaction of hydrogen with steel in a metal hydride system preferably operated above 350° C. is removed downstream of the Mg-based hydride storage unit using an adsorption cartridge, preferably containing activated carbon.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 2016
Date of Patent: January 30, 2018
Assignee: L'AIR LIQUIDE SOCIÉTÉ ANONYME POUR L'ÉTUDE ET L'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES GEORGES CLAUDE
