  • Publication number: 20240299007
Abstract: A disposable ultrasound transducer interface pad configured to adhere to at least one of an operational portion of an ultrasound transducer or a skin surface of a patient, includes an impermeable substrate layer having a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. A first hydrophilic coating layer is applied to the first surface of the impermeable substrate layer. The first hydrophilic coating layer is activatable to provide an acoustic coupling interface between the ultrasound transducer and the patient. An adhesive layer is formed on the second surface of the impermeable substrate layer and configured to adhere to the operational portion of the ultrasound transducer or the skin surface of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20240299006
Abstract: A method of making a disposable ultrasound transducer interface pad includes forming a flexible, impermeable substrate layer having a first side and an opposing second side; applying a first hydrophilic material to the first side of the impermeable substrate layer to form a first hydrophilic layer, wherein the first hydrophilic material is configured to be activatable to provide an acoustic coupling between a patient and an ultrasound transducer; and curing the first hydrophilic layer to form a continuous first hydrophilic layer on the first surface of the impermeable substrate layer.

  • Publication number: 20190133554
Abstract: An ultrasound transducer interface pad includes a first substrate layer having a first surface and a second surface. A hydrophilic layer is formed on the first surface of the first substrate, wherein the hydrophilic layer is configured to be hydrated to provide an acoustic coupling between the ultrasound transducer and a patient. The interface pad further includes a second substrate layer having a third surface and a fourth surface. A first adhesive layer is formed on the third surface of the second substrate and configured to adhere to the second surface of the first substrate layer and a second adhesive layer is formed on the fourth surface of the second substrate and configured to adhere to one of: an operational portion of an ultrasound transducer or a patient.
