Publication number: 20240110463Abstract: A wellhead bracing system for a subsea well includes a base plate assembly and a wellhead brace assembly. The base plate assembly comprises a top surface, a bottom surface, a base plate aperture, and a plurality of anchor holes. The wellhead brace assembly comprises a vertical plate assembly having a cylindrical shape, a horizontal plate assembly to which the vertical plate assembly is attached, and a vertical support assembly attached to an outer surface of the vertical plate assembly and attached to the top surface of the horizontal plate assembly. Horizontal plate holes of the horizontal plate assembly are configured to attach to studs on the top surface of the base plate to secure the wellhead brace assembly to the base plate assembly. The wellhead bracing system slides onto a wellhead of the subsea well and braces an exterior of the wellhead.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 23, 2023Publication date: April 4, 2024Inventors: Wangming Lu, Khiem Nguyen, Jay Patrick Painter, Caleb Kimbrell Carroll, William Stephen Averill, Deryck Edward Matthew Williams, David Crenshaw Barrow, Michael Ryan Fitzsimmons

Publication number: 20190388716Abstract: A trauma relief strap assembly has a relief strap with a first strap and a second strap connected to the first strap at two or more connection points along a major longitudinal length of the relief strap. The relief strap further has one or more steps formed as a closed loop between two adjacent connection points. Each step has a longitudinal portion extending in a direction of the major longitudinal length of the relief strap and defined by one of the first strap and the second strap, and a lateral portion protruding laterally from the longitudinal portion and defined by the other of the first strap and the second strap.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2018Publication date: December 26, 2019Inventor: Ryan Barrow

Patent number: 9724545Abstract: A neck-worn personal air filtration device for filtering aero-allergens and providing a zone of filtered air around or near a user's breathing zone is described. The device may include an air source adapted to deliver a pressurized airflow, a hose, and a neck-worn plenum including a filter. The airflow being caused to accumulate within the plenum and exit the plenum through the air permeable surface. The air is filtered by a filter for breathing by the user.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2015Date of Patent: August 8, 2017Assignee: Augustine Biomedical and Design, LLCInventors: Scott D. Patent number: 9375547Abstract: A personal air filtration device and methods of using the same for providing a zone of filtered air proximate a breathing zone of a user are described. A blower provides an air flow to a head support which delivers the air flow to a zone proximate the users head. The air flow passes through a filter. The filter can be a point of delivery filter disposed about an air permeable surface of the head support. The delivered air flow can provide a laminar air flow defining a zone of filtered air about the user's breathing zone.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2015Date of Patent: June 28, 2016Assignee: AUGUSTINE BIOMEDICAL AND DESIGN, LLCInventors: Scott D. Patent number: 8616129Abstract: A cartridge useful as an activator of other systems, and related method of manufacture. The cartridge's casing includes a fuse delimited by placing a plate at each end staked to the casing for fixing the fuse. This configuration permits precise control of the length of the fuse during manufacture, eliminates the need for separate structures in the casing to aid fuse location, and simplifies manufacture and assembly. This configuration supports the fuse lessening stresses that can lead to fractures. A portion of the casing is thinned by a preselected amount to permit fracturing of the casing to launch the projectile. The projectile may be attached to the cartridge casing more simply, e.g. by screw threading.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 2011Date of Patent: December 31, 2013Assignee: The United States of America as Represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Ryan Barrow, James Mackie-Smith

Patent number: 8250980Abstract: An exemplary firing pin with a release mechanism apparatus at least partially composed of an elastic thermoplastic material. The apparatus includes a rod with a first end portion, a middle portion, and a second end portion. The first end portion includes an integral cage-like element with a plurality of restraining wall elements, which, interiorly, are undercut defining an interior chamber with a volume sufficient to accommodate a cable stop element and define an aperture in communication with the chamber. The aperture is sized to accommodate a cable or the like, but small enough to prevent the stop element seated in the chamber from moving, so long as the restraining wall elements are constrained. The restraining wall elements are generally constrained by a substantially rigid element, such that they cannot deform, flaring open, even if the cable is under tension.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 2010Date of Patent: August 28, 2012Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: James Mackie-Smith, Edward Tersine, Ryan Barrow
