  • Publication number: 20240007777
Abstract: An ear-wearable electronic device includes a first near-field communication (NFC) device and a transfer region configured to facilitate transfer of a wearable sensor unit into an ear of a wearer or onto an outer ear of the wearer or a surface of the wearer's head adjacent the outer ear. The wearable sensor unit comprises electronic circuitry comprising a second NFC device configured to communicatively couple to the first NFC device and facilitate wireless transfer of power from the ear-wearable electronic device to the wearable sensor unit and wireless transfer of data at least from the wearable sensor unit to the ear-wearable electronic device, and one or more sensors configured to measure at least one physiologic parameter or physiologic condition of the wearer. • Patent number: 11827318
Abstract: A submersible marine lighting apparatus is provided that includes voltage up-conversion and that is configured to intensify emitted light by reducing a transmission angle of the light through one or more techniques including increasing the distance between the light emitter and an optical lens. The submersible marine lighting apparatus includes a circular base, an LED array positioned in a recess in the base, an optical lens, a lens gasket, and a retaining ring. The lens gasket cooperating with the circular base, optical lens and retaining ring to form a waterproof seal between the circular base and the retaining ring. When attached to a watercraft, the interior of the lighting apparatus is sealed from water.

  • Publication number: 20210354803
Abstract: A thruster system for improved steering and maneuverability of a marine vessel when operating at relatively low, or wakeless speeds, such as in the vicinity of docks, swimmers or other obstacles, or when trailering, beaching or mooring. The thruster system has a modularized design adapted to independently control separate motor/propeller units located at various positions on the vessel's hull. Each propeller of the modular thruster motor system has its own relatively small, electric motor and mounting bracket, permitting each motor to be separately mounted to a location on the hull of the marine vessel apart from other thruster motors. The thruster system is further enhanced by an electrical control system for controlling each modular thruster motor system of the thruster system. In some embodiments, a charging system is provided that permits each electrical control system to be separately charged from the marine vessel's main battery.

  • Publication number: 20100293063
Abstract: An ad network system for providing content quality controls to advertisers when placing display advertisements online at publishers' sites and applications is disclosed. The ad network system includes a proposal tool for creating proposals for advertising campaigns, the proposals specifying content quality controls for the campaign. An advertiser management system manages the advertising campaigns for the advertisers, and a content categorization module analyzes content at the publishers' sites and applications. The display advertisements are served to the publishers' sites and applications with a two-stage ad server system according to the content quality controls for the advertising campaigns.

  • Publication number: 20100293047
Abstract: An ad network system for optimizing the purchase of online display advertisement inventory is disclosed. The ad network system includes an advertiser management system to manage and acquire data for a set of advertising campaigns for a set of advertisers and a publisher management system to manage and acquire data for inventory at publishers' sites and applications. A media buying system runs a two-part optimization to determine an allocation of available inventory and an inventory purchase plan based on the data acquired by the advertiser management system and the publisher management system.

  • Patent number: 7056041
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting a damaged encoder strip are described. An encoder strip is scanned in two separate operations at two separate times, a first operation and a second operation. The number of markings sensed in each separate operation is counted. A circuit compares the count of markings in each separate operation. If the count differs between the two operations, the circuit determines that the encoder strip is damaged, and the circuit develops a signal indicating this damage. In an embodiment, the first operation is performed during a calibration, and the second operation is performed during a power-on, or upon operator command.

  • Publication number: 20040085379
Abstract: A tester print head has at least one conductive pad that is coupled to a status return pad by circuitry. The tester print head is inserted into a printer carriage assembly that is linked to printer control circuitry through linking hardware. A self-test signal is applied to the linking hardware. If the tester print head provides an indication to the control circuitry that the self-test signal was received, the linking hardware passed the self-test. If the indication is not provided to the control circuitry, the self-test failed and the functional print head that was replaced by the tester print head may be operating properly.
