Abstract: A system for electrocardiography includes a handheld device having a device housing, and a patient cable having a proximal end that connects to the device housing. A distal end of the patient cable breaks out into leads for attachment to a patient. The handheld device generates an electrocardiogram based on electrical signals received from the patient cable. The system further includes a docking station having a dock housing to support the device housing and to recharge a battery of the handheld device.

Abstract: An electrocardiogram interpretation system includes a display and a user interface. A processor receives an ECG including a waveform of electrical activity of a patient's heart and analyzes the waveform to calculate computerized interpretation metrics and detect at least one segment of the waveform corresponding to a behavior associated with a condition of the patient's heart and categorize a type of the condition and a status of the condition selected from a group including at least normal and abnormal with the computerized interpretation metrics. The processor generates, on the display, the waveform and highlight the at least one segment with a color selected from a plurality of colors, each color of the plurality of colors corresponding to the type of condition or the status of the condition. The processor generates, on the display, textual information that includes the type of condition or the status of the condition.

Abstract: A system for interpreting electrocardiograms receives a first electrocardiogram waveform, and identifies a feature in the first electrocardiogram waveform. The system retrieves one or more second electrocardiogram waveforms recorded at a point in time prior to the first electrocardiogram waveform. The system extracts the feature from the one or more second electrocardiogram waveforms, and generates one or more interpretive statements based on a comparison of the feature identified in the first electrocardiogram and the feature extracted from the one or more second electrocardiogram waveforms.
