  • Publication number: 20250031238
Abstract: A telecommunication network limits bandwidth usage for devices associated with lower service priority levels, thus conserving physical resources for use by devices with higher service priority levels. Low priority devices can include mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) devices, roaming devices, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and/or the like. The telecommunication network enforces the limited bandwidth usage if a low priority device is capable of using channel subdivisions (e.g., bandwidth parts (BWPs)), and this device capability is communicated during a UE capability exchange that occurs during a registration process. Core network functions provide a policy that specifies a limited channel bandwidth for a capable low-priority device to a network node of the telecommunication network to which the wireless device is communicably coupled. The network node configures the wireless device to use the limited channel bandwidth according to the policy.

  • Publication number: 20240340124
Abstract: Methods provided herein include receiving, at a user equipment (UE) a UE capability enquiry from a radio access network (RAN). The UE has an original antenna configuration and is capable of new radio carrier aggregation (NRCA). Methods include sending from the UE to the RAN, in response to the UE capability enquiry, a UE capability information message. The UE capability information message indicates an optimized SRS antenna switching configuration that is different from the original antenna configuration.

  • Publication number: 20240323282
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for voice call optimization. Methods include receiving a request to initiate a voice call from a wireless device configured to connect to a WLAN of a wireless gateway device. In response to receiving the request, the method includes determining an organizationally unique identifier (OUI) of the wireless gateway device and searching a database containing organizationally unique identifiers (OUIs) for the OUI of the wireless gateway device. The method further includes executing the voice call over a cellular network without using the wireless gateway device upon finding the OUI of the wireless gateway device in the database.

  • Patent number: 10051603
Abstract: Methods and systems disclosed herein can help to dynamically adjust page transmission power, and in particular, the transmission power for quick paging bits, depending upon whether a user equipment (UE) is operating as a single radio LTE (SRLTE) device. An exemplary method involves an access network making a determination that a UE is configured to use a single radio system for (a) data communication under a first air interface protocol, and (b) voice calls under a second air interface protocol; and responsively initiating a process to set a transmission power used to page the first UE for a voice call under the second air interface protocol to a higher power level, as compared to a transmission power level utilized to page a second UE configured to use separate radio systems for data communication under the first air interface protocol and voice calls under the second air interface protocol.

  • Patent number: 8719102
Abstract: A point-of-sale terminal comprises a contactless communication transceiver configured to receive an emission containing confidential information from a portable electronic device, and an enclosure having an aperture to promote at least partial insertion of the portable electronic device. The enclosure is constructed to promote substantially confining the emission within the enclosure to reduce eavesdropping on the confidential information while promoting the transceiver receiving the emission.

  • Patent number: 8249935
Abstract: A method for point-of-sale transactions is disclosed. The method comprises a point-of-sale terminal receiving a confidential information from a portable electronic device over a contactless communication link, the confidential information being used by the point-of-sale terminal to complete the transaction. The method also includes substantially blocking access to the contactless communication link beyond the area adjacent to the point-of-sale terminal to reduce eavesdropping on the confidential information.
