Abstract: A locking bicycle pedal includes a ratcheting coiled cable with a male locking plug that mates with a female locking port. A lock, such as a resettable combination lock, secures and releases a catch that secures and releases the plug in the port. When locked in the port, the plug depresses a plunger which constrains a pawl that engages teeth of a toothed wheel of the spool. An optional tracker wirelessly emits GPS location data if a theft is detected.

Abstract: A slide assembly for sliding a bicycle along a rail with the bicycle oriented approximately orthogonal to the direction of travel along the rail includes clamps and support arms to connect a slide plate, known as a skid, below the bottom bracket of the frame. The skid provides a surface upon which the bicycle may slide along a rail. The assembly positions the skid at or nearly in line with a vertical axis extending through the center of mass of the bicycle, sufficiently apart from the rear wheel, sprocket, chain and pedal crank to avoid interference therewith.

Abstract: A locking bicycle pedal includes coiled cables on spools with locking mechanisms attached to free ends. The cables may be extended from the spools. The locking mechanism may comprise a key or combination lock. The locking mechanisms attach to the pedal when not in use for locking the bicycle. A bicycle may be equipped with one or more locking pedals. Where two locking pedals are provided, the locking mechanisms of one pedal may interlock with each other and/or the locking mechanisms of the other pedal. The coil and locking mechanisms do not interfere with normal use of the bicycle.
