    Abstract: Systems for facilitating movement of a patient transport apparatus are provided and include user input control device that includes a mode switch selectable between a longitudinal transport mode and a multidirectional mode and a driving assist device actuatable between at least one engaged state and a non-engaged state. The mode switch generates signals based on the selected mode and the driving assist device generates engaged or non-engaged signals which are received by a controller. The controller is configured to generate an output signal sent to a lift actuator, swivel actuator, and/or a powered drive system to assist a user in propelling the apparatus in a desired manner.

    Abstract: A ladder for a mast assembly is provided. The ladder includes a frame assembly having a pair of side rails and a plurality of rungs. The ladder also includes a sub-assembly affixed to an interior facing side of the frame assembly. The sub-assembly includes a platform provided at a bottom section of the sub-assembly. The sub-assembly also includes a plurality of support rails provided at a top section of the sub-assembly. A first end of each of the support rails is pivotably coupled to the frame assembly. A second end of each of the support rails is configured to contact with the mast assembly when the ladder is in a deployed position with respect to the mast assembly. The frame assembly and the at least one sub-assembly is collapsible against the mast assembly.
