Patent number: 11207629Abstract: Filter systems, filters, and methods of managing filter systems are provided. The filter systems utilize large filters that are too large to be manually handled by service personnel. As such, the filter systems and methods utilize filter positioning units for handling the filters during maintenance intervals. Some systems include sensor for remotely monitoring the status of the filters and the information can be used to reverse pulse the filters as well as to indicate the end of the service life of the filters. The filters can be refurbished with new filter media.Type: GrantFiled: April 11, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: Parker-Hannifin CorporationInventors: Thomas B. Green, Jason LaMarr Tate, Leonard R. Castellano, Stephen David Hiner, Ryan Margate Pastrana

Publication number: 20160060554Abstract: A method of regulating a Modified Wobbe index number (MWI) of a multi-composition gas fuel supplied to one or more combustors of a gas turbine is disclosed. A rapid temperature swing absorber comprising a skid or platform comprising one or more reactor vessels is also disclosed, the one or more vessels comprising a plurality of hollow fibers each of which is impregnated by one or more sorbents for the separation of one or more deleterious gases from a fuel stream.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 3, 2014Publication date: March 3, 2016Inventors: Robert Warren Taylor, Ryan Margate Pastrana

Publication number: 20150336041Abstract: A filter assembly for mounting to an opening in a tube sheet of a filter system is provided. The filter assembly includes a plurality of filter elements and a mounting structure. Each filter element includes an extension of filter media, a first coupling portion, and a second coupling portion. The first and second coupling portions are attached to the filter media. The first and second coupling portions are connectable to one another to secure a first one of the plurality of filter elements to a second one of the plurality of filter elements such that fluid communication between the first and second filter elements is established when connected. The mounting structure is sized and configured to mount to the tube sheet adjacent the opening. The mounting structure includes a mounting structure coupling portion being connectable to the first coupling portions of the filter elements.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2014Publication date: November 26, 2015Applicant: BHA ALTAIR, LLCInventors: Martin Gregory Hatfield, Ryan Margate Pastrana

Publication number: 20150151236Abstract: A filter media is provided. The filter media includes a porous membrane material, and at least one fiber stitched into the porous membrane material. A property of the filter media is selected as a function of a stitch configuration of the at least one fiber in the filter media.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2013Publication date: June 4, 2015Applicant: BHA Altair, LLCInventors: Vishal Bansal, Ryan Margate Pastrana, Martin Gregory Hatfield, Robert Warren Taylor, Todd Joseph Scheerer

Publication number: 20150114221Abstract: A gas turbine inlet air filter house control system may obtain geospatial data for an area in which a gas turbine is located. The gas turbine inlet air filter house control system may determine filter cleaning parameters for the gas turbine based on the geospatial data and control the initiation and duration of the inlet air filter cleaning process.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2013Publication date: April 30, 2015Applicant: BHA Altair, LLCInventors: Sanji Ekanayake, Alston Ilford Scipio, Ryan Margate Pastrana, Paul Robert Fernandez

Patent number: 8844258Abstract: A system for de-icing a gas turbine engine is provided. A manifold is coupled to an inlet screen. A first conduit is coupled to a stage of the compressor and a first input of a mixing component. A second conduit is coupled to the exhaust and a second input of the mixing component. The second conduit being adapted to extract exhaust gases without increasing the pressure at the exhaust. A third conduit is coupled to the output of the mixing component and the manifold. A method for de-icing a gas turbine engine inlet screen includes determining a current temperature at the inlet screen, and determining a desired temperature at the inlet screen. If the current temperature at the inlet screen is less than the desired temperature at the inlet screen first flow rate of an air-exhaust mixture necessary to achieve the desired inlet screen temperature is calculated.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2013Date of Patent: September 30, 2014Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Sanji Ekanayake, Alston Ilford Scipio, Dale J. Davis, Ryan Margate Pastrana
