  • Patent number: 12415183
Abstract: Diagnostic testing systems and related methods employ actuation pressure-based control during fluid transfer within a test cartridge. A method of operating a cartridge to process a biological sample includes coupling an actuation port of the cartridge with a pump assembly of a portable analyzer. A transfer operation of the pump assembly induces airflow through the actuation port so as to displace an aliquot of the sample solution along a fluid channel. A control unit monitors a pressure signal indicative of a pressure of air displaced by the pump assembly. The transfer operation is stopped in response to a change in the pressure signal indicative of contact of the aliquot of the sample solution with a hydrophobic staging vent.

  • Patent number: 9023511
Abstract: System, methods, and apparatuses for removably attaching a battery to a user device are provided herein. In certain embodiments, a system may include an adhesive layer formed on an inner portion of the user device. The system may also include a battery retention label. The battery retention label may include a body portion configured to be adhered to the inner portion of the user device by the adhesive layer. The body portion may be configured to receive the battery thereon. The battery retention label may also include one or more tabs extending from the body portion. Each of the one or more tabs may include a battery adhesive layer formed on one side thereof. Moreover, each of the one or more tabs may be folded over the battery so that the battery adhesive layer adheres to the battery and retains the battery within the battery retention label.
